no links to post right now but here are some specs for the new nano w/video

4 GB Up to 1,000 songs, up to 3,500 photos, up to 4 hours of video, or some of each $149

24 hours audio playback, up to 5 hours of video

8 GB Up to 2,000 songs, up to 7,000 photos, up to 8 hours of video, or some of each $199

both 2 inch color display and same battery life for both I believe

as for the ipod videos i guess they're now called the ipod classics and they come in 80 GB and 160 GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

forget what the GB can get you the 80 is $250 and the 160 is $350 battery i believe is up to 40 hours for audio and 7 for video

now even $150 isn't cheap but I've priced some of the other models and they seem like they're being sold at a great price:)

Wouldn't buy a new music player in the next year for sure:

    1. Cowon A2 is great enough.
    2. Might as well wait until touch screen technology is implemented.

yeah, and during that announcement they lowered the price of the iphone...the one I just bought 16 days ago and can't return after 14. $200 drop! they better give out an itunes credit or something to those of us who bought in the past 30 at least! man. I learned my lesson apple. I loved you and own many of your products, but "once bitten, twice shy" I will never buy another of their products until it's been out for longer than 90 days!

You can highlight and hit Ctrl + C. That copies, and Ctrl + V pastes.

"Introducing the iPod Touch - As everyone expected, a new iPod with the iPhone touchscreen interface arrives. It's the iPod Touch, basically an iPhone (almost exactly the same size) without the phone (see the pic above... looks exactly like the iPhone, only it's not). It's also the first iPod with Wi-Fi, which you can use to watch YouTube videos and browse the web. $299 (8GB) and $399 (16GB). (Wait, where's your 16GB iPod Nano?)"

from the yahoo link a couple of posts up... touchscreen and wifi!?!??!

Most would consider the i-phone as a phone even with it's size/weight, since it is similar (though heavier) to other phones. Why would anyone get an mp-3 player the size/weight of an i-phone when most/all mp-3 players are much much smaller/lighter?

16 GB is not enough for a media player.
    Come back when it's 30GBs.

i don't know if they're doing it for everyone that bought IPhones or if it's just for people that purhcased one within 14 days of this new price drop. you might be right, but just in case you're wrong, I wouldn't want anyone to get their hopes up when they don't qualify;)

Due to the price drop of the Iphone, I went out and bought a 4gb one for the gf. Good things happen for the people who wait. But for me, I'm waiting for the 2nd gen Iphone with 3G and gigs probably coming out next year.

Abe, those nanos looks so tempting huh.

I bought the iPod classic the day they were available(Thursday). It's simply beautiful. I would have liked the touch but 16gb is not enough for me. I also have an 8GB 2ndGen Nano Its sweet the new interface is cool. I had a 5G 60GB that died a few months ago ad I was just waiting.

The new look for the IPOD nano's is intersting. I got another year or so in my current Nano that I got last Christmas and then it should be time to get a new one. But I also like the ipod touch. All in all they both look quite nice. But I don't know how keen I am on the new look of the nano's, though.

Here's a pic from the wiki. Nice pic too: [IMG]

Not a huge fan of the interface of the Nano and the regular IPOD, though. The album cover cutting into your options, eww.

Cowon D2 is a great portable player.

SDHC compatibility, and with the release of the 16GB and 32GB coming in early 08, large capacity in a very small player.

Supports many types of audio, great battery life, touch-screen, and various applications (like a drawing program) that come with firmware updates.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it does support video, but it must be converted specifically for the player.

With these new versions of the iPod, do you have to have the latest iTunes software? I use an older version so that I can use my "illegal" songs because that didn't work for me on the new iTunes.
