Looking at a stringing and came across the SAM's. Anyone know anything about these? The R1 and R2 drop weight are the one's I'm kind of looking at.

    Thanks

How expensive are sam's? Aren't they pretty expensive?

To me, it just seems like a regular dropweight machine.

It is nice that it is fully upgradable to electric and fixed clamps and it has a 6 pt mounting system.

if i were you, i would just buy from a reputable brand such as gamma, klippermate, silentpartner, or alpha. They offer plenty of good quality dropweights. Try to get one with a clutch, it'll make like easier.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the info on the SAM stringer

I was also looking at the Eagnas Flex 722e but there seems to be mixed reviews on this brand.

    Indeed.

The eagnas does not have very good reliability.

I've already posted a little rant elsewhere in these forums. :-D

But in my opinion, try and stay away.

Why not go with lets say the Silent Partner Swing or Alpha or Gamma Dropweight?

They are all fairly cheap, high quality, reputable brand machines.

Agree - from what I've read here and elsewhere, I dropped Eagnas from my short list pretty quickly. Life's too short, when there are other well supported and strongly recommened options. :)
