Has anyone seen a racket snap in half and fly like Radwanska's did against Date-Krumm?

And no, neither the double-string breaks by Sampras against Rafter nor Echizen in Prince of Tennis breaking his racket count

if she lost, she should have sued the racquet manufacturer.

I saw it too! It was 30-all in the 5-6 in the third set too. Her racquet broke off completely at the top of the handle (where the cortex is). It was on a routine backhand return against Kimiko Date, who has a pretty weak serve....The commentators were saying how the replays wouldn't be good for Babolat....

I've never seen that happen before, ever.

I'd heard it happened to Marat, but I thought it was a hole in the center of the racquet. When did it happen?

That has actually happened to me... except it was years ago, and the racquet was a Kennex composite (this was during the transition from wood to graphite, and the composite was kinda a sandwich of wood / graphite layers). I hit an overhead and the racquet snapped in two; head half went flying. Can't imagine doing it to a modern racquet though.

Radwanska had been smacking her racquet against the ground after several points leading up to this, so probably she weakened/cracked it earlier. I really can't imagine it just breaking that way unless it was cracked.
