It almost looks like Serena is trying to gift Sloane the match but she isn't taking it.
ouch... easy there tiger, my point was that Janko retired while receiving a proper beatdown during his match with Almagro, foot related i believe, while Serena not only toughed it out like a real competitor but also broke her opponent's serve.
he gave up and took the easy way out seeing as he was losing, Serena is still out there fighting.
The quality of this match has just tanked. One injured and can't move, the other is an error laden mess. And both are in slow motion.
Exactly! If Sloane were smart, she should be drop shotting Serena all day long to make her run and bend low.
Serena is going to win about 20-25 grand slams as we learned from one of her fanboys.
A work out is less strain on the body, and a player can stop as much as she desires. There's no opponent to force her to do things that can wear her down before she's physically ready. I have no doubt that she would not risk as much with only singles to tax her body.
This should be highly dramatic, but fairly low quality.
Is ESPN3 or WatchEspn working for those who're watching on internet?
Love the Serena racquet smash. LOL.
Oh oh, Serena just lost her cool by smashing her racquet.
Maybe breaking the racquet will get her re-energized. She's obviously fighting the pain.
There was no quality in this match to begin with
Very respectful to her opponent right there... Girl apparently looks up to Serena who just demolished a racquet because things are looking a bit grim.
serena is fine. just fine.
She's all mopey even when she's not injured. Besides, she's getting old.
Nope, they're not working for me either.
very politely checking with linesman
Serena wrapped her A game in an injury so that if Sloan wins, the A game is protected.
Uh..oh, Serena just got called for a foot fault. You know what happens when Serena gets called for a foot fault during a tight match, don't you?
30 all. this is dangerous.
I think the painkillers are turning into a competitive advantage for Serena.
Just tuned in.
Can someone give me a summary of the first two sets?
She shoves balls down fu**ing" throats. LOL.
Great bh. Deuce
What's the score? And who is serving first this set?
Serena holds 2-2.
Wonder how many unforced errors for Sloane.. A million?
Keep the play by play coming. I had to give up the TV and the stream isn't working.
Stephens is playing intelligently, nice to see someone play Serena without playing basher ball the entire time.
Sloane promises a show (those of you who saw her post match interview will know) she is delivering it for sure
tennis players play possum better than anybody.
Smart lob over Serena. 30-0.
DF by Sloane. 30-15.
Another double fault by Sloane...painful
She's still green, but a match like this is the kind of experience she needs--at least for being able to hang in there no matter what's happening on the other side of the court.
Nice BH volley by Sloane. 40-15.
And an ace to hold for 3-2.
Nice volley there. I love seeing players smartly come in. Li Na has really improved in that regards and Stephens consistently tries to get into net.
Ha, Williams broke her BLX Blade 98.
Is there penalties for breaking racquets?
She's all talk
Yeah. She got a violation.
Wawrinka probably watching this match thinking "This Stephens girl going to make much more money than me in this tournament?!?!?!"
Who is everyone expecting to win at this point?
I thought the same thing...
Since when is she using the 98 version???
I think Sloane will hold on. If her nerves set in, then it's Serena somehow.
If Sloane breaks, she wins....
Ok, that was pretty funny.
And Serena holds.... grrrr
Whoever breaks first.
Separate names with a comma.
