Djokovic in 3 is the most likely option. The two never tiring grinders to slug it out without much drama.

    Djokovic in 4.

But if I were to be delusional, Ferrer in 5.

Maybe Ferrer can somehow, by a miracle, frustrate Novak?

    Who knows.

Djokovic in 4. I have a feeling we've seen the only 5-setter we're going to see from Djokovic before the final.

Ferrer lacks the firepower to hurt Novak if he had a bigger serve he may have had a better chance.

Isner last year showed that with a huge serve (top speed 148 mph) he can smack aces even against Novak! and he turned in an amazing victory against the Serb in IW!

Novak is really tired now from last 2 matches. I predict Ferrer in 5 sets. Berdych made a mistake in not drawing Novak into long rallies to tire him out. that was a tactical mistake.

Djokovic will have to play dreadful again and that's not happening.

A one sided straight sets win. Just a bad match up for Ferrer, Djokovic has him beat all around

Poor Ferrer is going to get a beat down from a unexhausted Djokeroid.

This match isn't even good... and worse is that they don't play the semifinals on the same day, so whoever (Djokavic) wins this match gets an extra day of rest.

I'm be impressed if Ferrer won a set. I'd actually be impressed if he took a set to tiebreak.

Doesnt matter if rog reaches final without being broken/losing a tiebreak!

This match is probably boring. Rooting for Ferrer to win the first Set.

    Prisoner of the moment.

Ferrer's 5-9 against the guy, which is not insurmountable.

Second, they've had quite a few tough matches.

This is not Federer guys. The prisoner of the moment stuff is laughable.

This. 3 or 4. Ferrer's ground game is much more solid than Berd's, so in that sense, it will be more challenging for Djoko but Ferrer's grinding is too limited to break down Djoko's amazing defense and do it over a long period of time. Also Djoko's offensive skills are superior. The more talented player will prevail. Wawa just played the match of his life and Djoko was lucky to weather the storm but I feel he will be focused and clutch for the rest of the tournament.

Poor Ferrer. He advances to another Grand Slam semi in which he probably won't advance. That's no slight on Ferrer either. The guy deserves a Slam final appearance, heck a Slam title period, for the impressive consistency he's shown on tour. He has pretty much done everything that a player can do playing in an era like this.

I could be wrong, though. I do know that one day, like Ivanisevic, Ferrer will have a dream run to a Slam final and win!

Down the line: He has consistency but not the brilliance. You should need more than consistency to win a slam.

Hmmm something tells me Djokovic struggles past in 5......dunno why.....let's see if Ferrer can play some lights-out tennis like he did against Nadal in AO2011.

he is a cute little small boy. what do you expect ? and he has that racket with no power. I think he would play much better with Babolat Aeropro or puredrive racket that has some more power.

3 or max 4 sets and Novak will wrap it up.

Ferrer won first set in US open due to windy conditions.

This one is more suited for Novak and he will run through his opponent.

Had Berdych pushed Novak to 5 sets, I would say Ferrer might have taken Novak to 5 sets, but he still cannot win it!

i voted Novak in 5, then he rips his t-shirt, because i want to hear the press and the folks online go on and on about how wonderful it was to see such a marathon match and how much these guys are such athletes.

Any of you guys actually going to watch this pushfest in it's entirety?

Yes I am because it isn't a pushfest, and it's also not a whack the ball really hard so I can impress message board people either....like Dog for instance, or Dustin Brown.

This isn't Simon/Monfils. These guys strategize shots.

If Ferrer comes in and plays out of his might, he might make it a competitive 6-0 x 3.

    Otherwise, it'll be a lopsided 6-0 x 3.

    Not happening.

Ferrer took ages to close an injured, limping Almagro. He does have a strategy, it's called grinding the opponent out until you get an error or he fails to return your rallyball. He even pushes his backhand with his left hand halfway up the throat of the racquet.

Novak might try to do something for the highlight reel or on match point if and when he has a high enough lead in a set or in the match.

It's just their style, I'm not knocking it's effectiveness. It works, but is uninteresting apart from the odd rally unless they play someone with a markedly different style who can deal with their game i.e. Tsonga, DelPotro, Davydenko, Federer, Raonic, Nishikori, etc...
