I'm a big fan of Ferrer's game, dude is relentless, and plays so hard, but he should have lost to Almagro if not for an epic choke job.

I can't see how he beats Novak. I think this will be a rather routine win for Novak as it has been recently.

But don't you see how he does it? Crosscourt, crosscourt, up the line, up the middle, crosscourt, drop shot, wait and volley?

    This is Simon and Monfils.

Forehand, forehand, forehand, forehand, backhand, forehand, backhand, backhand, forehand....all in the middle of the court.

What's the point of this thread. Djokovic in 3 is the only rational response.

I foresee a dramatic upset; Ferrer will defeat Djokovic in five hard fought sets while producing the greatest match in tennis history.

    Jokes. Djokovic in three

I hope Djokovic wonders into this match battered and bruised and sick. This gives my man Ferrer a small chance of winning.

Seeing as how this really should be Djokovic-Almagro (or some might say Wawrinka-Almagro...), I'd expect Djokovic to take this in straights.

I expect more atacking game from Djotard...Ferrer's high spins in the middle of the court fit s perfectly for Djotard's strikes...I can not see Ferrer winning this one!3-0 Dopetard!!

If Ferrer takes it, it'll be in 5. More likely Djokovic will have the slight edge in every rally and end up winning most of them.

If Ferrer wins this he's got to pray Murray can take out Fed. If that happens, he's got a serious shot at his first GS.

True but if it's murray I don't want a 4 or 5 setter here as you know what energy sapping matches Murray and djoker have.

Yes. More aggressive than Simon/Monfils for sure.

He does create more angles and has more intelligent strategy, but it's still ultra-conservative and oftentimes retrieval based against the heavy hitters (to benefit from forcing errors). I prefer Davydenko who will move up court more aggressively while moving his opponent around as well as going for more higher risk winners sooner from anywhere on the court; also taking the ball on the rise.

    It's a matter of preference i suppose.

    Anyway.. Match has started!

I'd love a Ferrer win, but Djoko has it. I wonder if a tight 3-setter between these two will last as long as the Fed-Tsonga 5-setter yesterday.
    Let it grind.

It's always nice to see Novak playing more attacking tennis like he is doing so far in this match. But then again his opponent kind of lets him.

Djoker likes to mix it depending on his opponent against Harrison he was all out attacking against wawrinka defensive if he plays Murray he wil be more tentative if he plays fed it will be half attack half defence.

What an anticlimax so far. THIS IS when tennis needs Nadal. Even an 8-month-out-of-tennis Nadal is a far bigger threat to Djokovic than Ferrer will ever be.

Ferrer doesn't have anything in him to trouble djokovic.. Ahh.. I feel now..almagro should have made it.. Atleast scoreline would have been decent considering almagro serve

That goes without saying. The big four are the big four for a reason. Ferrer maybe number 4 after this event, but we all know who the real fourth member is.

A quick set between these two, not quite what you would expect. But then again Djoko is totally dominating almost all the rallies.
