Ok. Most people do not care about this first round match up of a couple of guys in their 30s and unseeded and barely seeded players. However, this is a fascinating match. Chela is an old school claycourter and Llodra is a living fossil with his relentless S&V and chip return game. Chela has a 2-0 h2h but the matches were years ago. Its kind of interesting in fact that for two guys with corresponding 13 year pro careers, they have only met twice.

Looking at Chela's ranking is like seeing the history of the game slowing with his effectiveness rising as the game slows. Llodra is on the other hand completely unpredictable. He can go toe to toe with the best on the right surfaces but can also stink it up pretty badly. It looks like he was suffering from injury so we will see how he does. I dont predict Chela coming out of this and becoming some kind of spoiler but I think Llodra just might depending on his game and get to the quarters.

Llodra is playing better tennis recently and I think his game spells trouble for an aged baseliner like Chela. could be Llodra in straights.

however I remember when Chela took out Hewitt at AO 06. Chela definitely has a game that can win on these courts. could be a good fun match or a drubbing either way

Llodra hopefully. I would like to see him make amends for a brutal performance in the DC final

Lllondra isn't the guy to win on Slow HC....though would like to see him prevail. I have seen Chela live many times....and I know he can pass this guy plenty!

Llodra is in better form but just have a funny feeling Chela if playing half decent can do this, great match up contrast in style.
Chela twice gave Pete a great match here took him to 5 sets once, has also taken out Hewitt and Murray.
Chela in 5 sets or Llodra in 3!

I'd be shocked if Chela doesn't take this fairly comfortably.

At what time does this match start? I hope I can find a stream and watch Llodra. He is a treat to watch.

I lost interest in this match when I saw how Chela starting blowing chances in the first set.

He probably bet on himself and didn't see the handicap unfolding the right way.
