I can't wait. If Federer starts shanking his shots like he has in some previous matches, it may be closer than we think. Go Baghdatis!

So you should too!:D. But Jim Courier just said it would be the biggest upset in Grand Final history (Open Era). I only hope the match lives up to expectations.

For those of you who don't know, this is the Australian open, not the US open....don't think we'll be seeing a tiebreaker in the 5th.....

Baghdatis vs. Nalbandian - How do you get a choker to choke?

Don't know if anyone else has posited this, but I've been thinking Baghdatis rope-a-doped Nalbandian. Pushed the ball a lot during the first set and till 1-5 in the 2nd. Allowed Nalby to hit winners from everywhere.

Then, he started to get into a more aggressive mode and started to unsettle Nalby fighting back to 5-5 in the 2nd. Then he did a great job of mixing up his aggressive shots with his push shots, throwing Nalby off the rhythm he'd established when he was hitting all those winners.

It would have been a far different match, imo, if Baghy had come out aggressive -- because David is a such a superb counterpuncher.

"How do you get a choker to choke?" Right?

Haha, Ronaldo. I imagine it will be even more ridiculous than that.

    Post-Match quote from Federer:

"Well, I joost didn't feel up to snuff, you know? It vas liek I could feel dis pain in my Lymph Nodes...Which is where I generate my mojo."

    Baghdatis; (6-2), (2-0)*ret

Won't be a quiet night. Lots of friends and relations arriving at the airport, including one who looked like Marcos' twin.

Yikes! I hope Roger isn't too perturbed by all the ruckus. I'm sure they feel they can make a difference. If the roof is closed, it's going to be LOUD!

Anyone who looked like Camille's twin?

I wonder if all of them have guaranteed tickets though. Supposedly, the tickets for the final were pre-sold ages ago. Baghdatis's fans, not knowing how far he'd go, probably didn't buy them in time. But what do i know, maybe Bags arranged something for his loyal fans, as always.

You have tickets to the final or are you just going to be in the tennis center? Or do you just work at the airport...? lol

Man I wish I was anywhere near that tournament!

None of the above. According to my Master Plan the Finals are always a fizzer so I usually only book tickets for quarters and semis - last year being the exception that proved my rule. I'm working on a new Plan.
The Open, and Marcos, is huge here, so we've been getting regular crosses to the airport during the Mixed.
And now we've crossed to Marcos' favourite restaurant 'Stalactites'. In the grip of Marcos mania here, lol.

Keiferz, I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again

I don't know if you guys overseas get the "pre-match entertainment" but we just had Shannon Noll perform live before the match. Embarrassing. I was ashamed to be Australian.

The worst thing is that he sang his crappy song after the players came into the stadium and sat down! Why the hell would you make them wait like that? Unbelievable.

Does everyone realize that if Fed wins, he goes to the FO and if he wins he will, like Serena a few years ago, hold all 4 Slam titles. Not a real Slam but still a great achievement.

Does everyone realize that if Fed wins today's match, then the FO, then Wimbledon, then the US Open, then whatever's next, etc, he will pass Sampras' record?

what other bands do you like, Marios?
