Is it just me or is it nearly impossible to see the ball on tv? Makes watching the AO the pits...

I noticed this too when watching the other night with the wife. Players hit the ball so hard these days that on one play, I never saw where the ball went. Did it go long? Did he clip a sideline? Didn't understand why one player was awarded the point. There was no way of telling until they showed the replay.

When thinking about it, it probably has to do with the green on green courts and using a yellow ball. Spectrally (color wise) there are very close to each other. At the USO and the summer hard court season last year, most of the courts were blue. The ball was a lot easier to see on television.

Most of the courts I play on are either blue or red. Never have a problem seeing the ball on them. When I miss, it is due to "operator error" and not an inability to see the ball. Let's hope the AO changes the color scheme next year.
