Just noticed that if Federer reaches at least two Grand Slam semifinals in 2013, it will be the 10th consecutive year he has achieved this. He is currently tied with Lendl at 9 consecutive years.

Rafael Nadal has reached at least two Grand Slam semfinals in a year for 7 consecutive years. This is tied with Sampras, Borg, Edberg, for the 2nd most in the open era.

If Fed reaches the QF (or better) of all 4 slams next year, he will have reached 42 Grand Slam QF's and thus break Connors' record of 41.

Yes, that would be a nice achievement. Then, he would have most grand slams, most grand slam finals, most grand slam semifinals, most grand slam quarterfinals.

Amazing run huh! The difference is Federer would achieve his 42 in an unbroken run of tournaments. Connors took 60-odd (roughly) majors to achieve his amount from the first QF.

Fed already has the consecutive GS Finals/Semis/QFs record.

Fed benefited from playing the Australian Open. Imagine if Connors played all Australian open, he'd have around 10 more QFs.

Yeah players these days benefit from having an easier travel to Australia then in the past. Federer flies on NetJets instead of cramped coach.
