In the case of a 4.0C player that has been bumped up to 4.5C:

    1. Can his 4.5C rating get bumped down after playing just two 4.5 Men's doubles matches?

2.Do the results of Mixed matches affect his 4.5C rating?

Are you referring to year-end bumps or a mid-year/early-start bump?

In general, you have to play at least 3 matches in a USTA year to have your rating change, so if you are referring to year-end, I don't believe playing just 2 matches would be enough. This player would stay a 4.5C AFAIK.

To the second question, if you play enough (3 or more) men's matches, your rating will be based on only those and mixed matches won't count towards the year-end rating.

3 matches minimum to get a rating, if you play regular and mixed you get a regular rating, if only mixed you get a mixed rating

Or if you play mixed and regular but not enough regular matches, you'll get a mixed rating as well (i.e. 2 adult matches + 5 mixed matches => M rating).

Yes, I was referring to year-end bumps. Thanks, I understand it now.
