This was the email I got today from my club:

Record 5 USTA Teams Headed to the State Championships!
CONGRATULATIONS to our FIVE USTA teams going to state!! Way to sweep the playoffs! Good luck in the State Championships!!

    Women's 2.5
    Women's 3.0
    Women's 3.5
    Women's 4.0
    Men's 3.5

Not sure to congratulate them or say shame on you for being such sandbaggers :)

LOL 5 teams from the same club, means the people in charge know exactly how to game the system. Notice they are mostly low level NTRP. If they had 4.5 mens and womens teams going, I might be more inclined to think they are a legit tennis club with good players.

If I saw this, I would definitely search out the head pro there and start taking lessons!

Recall our club sent Men's 3.5 and 4.0 regular and senior teams to state, then sectionals, with the 3.5 team going to Nat'ls. Our 4.0 teams were so loaded, we had two teams in the District finals. The good old days before everyone was rated up. 5 teams going to state, that's mighty fine recruiting.

I don't know if that is something to be too proud about.

"Hey, we recruit the best players to sandbag together...yipeeee!"

I've played on three teams in the past 6 years that have gone to state. All the teams I played on were made up of a group of friends. That's more important to me than winning.

Their 4.0 women's team isn't the only one going to State from that league. They won their flight but came in second in the playoff.

23 yrs ago a captain stated that we can have a social team or a competitive team. We all drank the no fun kool-aid.

It's more likely that the head pro is very weak and the teaching pros are very weak so they are under-rating all of the adult players.

This kind of thing happens in clubs all the time. It makes the teaching pro look good if all of their adult students are going off to the playoffs so they encourage them to under-rate.

If they were a good pro they would not really care much at all about USTA League tennis and they would be concentrating on Junior Development which is where the real $$$ is.

In our area one of the Club Coordinators even admitted in a meeting once that they actually encourage their teams to throw games and sets and hide players so they dont get moved up. (not sure why she admitted that though and the climate is somewhat harder for them now because of it)

They had a team that had taken first and at least made it to the local playoffs at Men's 3.5 every single year for at least 20 years. (except for last year when my team beat them 5-0 and beat them 3-2 the second time around and we went to the playoffs instead)

If you want to see a good teaching pro, check out how the high school players that have been taking lessons from them forever are doing in juniors and/or High School. If half of the kids that go to state are learning from the same pros, they are probably very good and worth taking lessons from.

(if they are teaching adults and they are going off to win 3.5 championships, then who cares???)

Indeed, how arrogant of them to win unimaginable tennis accolades and the respect and sexually charged admiration of their peers.

    Arrogance exemplified.

    They should be banned.

I tried this before, and it didnt work very well, customer service was Bad. However I got better luck when sending complaint via sms.

I have not yet tried complaining to the internet whilst using my cell phone internet, but given my sms experience, i would expect still better luck if i tried it that way.

You could also consider complaining using VOIP, the phone calls over the internet, there is so much technology out there.

I think any combination of phone and internet, you cannot go wrong.
