Argentina vs. Spain

    Some writer suggested to Carlos Moya that the Argentinians were surpassing the Spaniards on the basis of the performance at the French Open. The Spanish do have some players on the decline, ie Costa and Corretja, but Ferraro is still in his prime, and you have players on the rise like Robredo and Lopez. In addition, there is a future star in the wings--Rafael Nadal. One tournament doesn't make or break a nation's tennis program.

    No, but a series of tournaments do, and it would be born out with statistics that the Argentines are playing the better ball at the moment.

    right now the argentines are ahead of the spanish in clay courts because the argentines had so many men, they had 3 in the semifinals.
