    Hi Beach Tennis People

Here some info about the Aruba Beach Tennis International from 2-5 November 2006.
We expect around 200 people playing and about 80 juniors,

    the levels will be:
    - Fun (beginners, even people who never had a racket in their hands).
    - Advanced (intermediar).
    - Pro (people who think they are good).
    - Masters (45 years and up).

The site we play is called Moomba Beach: http://www.moombabeach.com/

    Accomodations:

We made some deals by example http://www.sailboardvacations.com/aruba.htm
charges $ 65(incl. tax) a night a room for 2 persons (kids are free), it's about 10 min walk to the site over the beach.

    The http://www.theboardwalk-aruba.com/ gives a 50 % discount, that's $71 for 2 persons a night a room(kids are free), 2 bedroom $102(prizes are incl. tax)
It's a little closer to the site (5 min.)

These accomodations are all close to the strip called high-rise with all the bars & restaurants!

If you want to rent a car we are working on a deal for about $30(incl.tax) a day.

    Sounds good no?

Hope to see/hear U all soon on Aruba,

    Sjoerd & Jochem

P.s. For airplane tickets your on your own, but remember the sooner the cheaper,
    from NY check JetBlue.

Right behind you, but i'll be gone before you fini
In beach tennis, from what i've read, why not just moonball it? I mean, hit a serve that goes at least 100 feet up in the air. Just has to land on the other side right? It'd be nearly unreturnable from how fast it's coming down..right?

Beach Tennis is all about tactic!

That is a good serve and is High % play!

This a great serve when playing a very aggressive net rushing returner!

    Don’t forget about the wind!

In beach tennis in the USA a player must serve cross-court!

Server to designated returner! The rules are the same as modern day tennis.

The serve is always over rated! Sure you can win lots of point with the serve in both beach and modern tennis, but so can the returner! Some say the game is all about the sever and then others say its all about the return?

The games that are friends on the other side of the pond are playing the rules are different!

The server can serve to either open and can serve from any place behind the baseline!

The court they play on is also a bit smaller.

The European game is played with a small paddle racket that is using some high tech engineering.

I just played the BT USA 2006 national championships and got to play with some players and rackets from Italy!

I for one just love racket sports. The racket, court and ball are incidental the win or lose trivial and the main event a happy game! This is the beach tennis party or the "X-game of Tennis"

Aruba = One Happy Island and One Happy Game

The whole beach and women thing is an amazing idea... but I think I'll stick to playing regular tennis. I'm a bigger fan of playing volleyball on the sand. I gotta hand it to you though, beach tennis is very inventive.
