Asics Gel Resolution 4 - Do you really need to get 1/2 size smaller?

MY beloved Prince T9 Roadsters are no longer around, and I need to order shoes.

Gel Resolution 4s seem like a good deal (at least the gray/orange ones on sale), but TW instructs to get 1/2 size smaller than normal, which, for me, is out of stock (my normal size is in stock).

Any experiences? I read through some customer comments and it was a mixed response. Maybe I should just pay the extra $20 for Prince T22s. But, I pride myself on always being able to find a good shoe at a decent prince. Got really lucky with the T9s, of which I had about 12 pair before they went out of production.

What you really need to do is find some place where you can try them on. I wore a size 11 in Prince Vipers, and also wear an 11 in Asics GR4s. But, I also wear an ASO ankle brace on each foot, so that might influence the fit somewhat.

I went from T9 to GR4 recently and the half size smaller worked for me. The GR4 is a more narrow shoe, but feels much faster than the T9 to me. Had to do quite a bit of lace adjusting and break in to feel right in my med-wide foot.

Yes, I wear an 11 in GR4s due to their length. I'm a 12 in all Adidas (inc B7s), and an 11.5 in Asics GR5, Nike CB2-4.3s & 2Ks, Wilson Rush Pros and NB 996s.

    Hope this helps.

I wear 10.5 for adidas Barricade Team 1 and I got the GR4 in 10. Fits great, actually doublesocking the GR4 feels even better but one sock feels fine too.

I agree with mmk - everyone's foot is different. Having said that, I wear a 10.5 Barricade 7 and I went down to a 10 GR4 and it felt great.

I suppose everyone's feet are different. I loved the GR3s, but when I got the GR4s and initially tried the suggested size down to 9.5 and this was not welcomed as I felt that it was too tight in the toebox. I went with the same size 10 on my GR4s and they feel fantastic.

I hope when I eventually switch over the the GR5s I'll still be happy.

Yep, feet are different. I use the same size in GR3s and GR4s. The 4s fit even better in the toe box and in the heel than the 3s.

I bought the Asics Solution Speeds a half size smaller, I was swimming in a 10.5. 10 was perfect.

Personally liked the 3s much more overall. But the snugness of the heel in the 4s was an awesome change. PLEASE GR5 when the time comes, don't suck.

Yes, you do...I own two pairs of these and tried on my usual 12. 11.5 fits like a glove, 12 feels like a boat.

My opinion on this is if your like me...I fit 10.5 to 11, so 10.5 still worked perfect.

On the other hand if I were a 10.5 closer to 10.5 or 10 I might try the 10.5

If your usual shoe fit is closer up, then stay the same
If your usual size is middle of your size then try both
If your usual shoe size is closer down, then go .5 less

    i just confused myself
