Playing in ASICS Resolutions is almost like running on air. Best tennis shoe I've ever worn.

In my opinion, the GR2 is the best shoe out there for performance and comfort. The only downside to this shoe is poor durability. My son and I get approximately 80 hours of hard court play, max.

At my age and with my knees, I'll sacrifice durability for comfort any day. I just buy a bunch of them and alternate like crazy; that way it seems like they last a long time. :)

No, they both last about the same.

i've had 2 pairs each of GR & GR2. durability is about the same; however lateral support is better in GR2. the tradeoff is a tad more weight, but I prefer the GR2.

great shoe. i believe softer sole material gives better grip on hardcourt than other brands.

Dear Asics Marketing - you could become a real name in the performance tennis shoe market if you offered a durability guarantee.

I think the GR2 is actually slightly lighter than the GR original if I recall correctly.

Actually, rotating shoes is a smart thing to do. 24 hrs gives the foam in the shoe to return to it's original state and should give you about 30% more life. So if you have money, buy in pairs. Old shoes will eventually lose it's cushioning though, anywhere from 2-6 months (depending on frequency).
