TW forum, at the fore front of Tennis revolution, came up with this term God Mode. Not sure what exactly it defines but my understanding is that the player is playing the best tennis he possibly can when in God Mode.

Assuming that our current ATP players (so no retired pros) show up in their God mode for Wimbledon 2011 , who would win and why ?

Federer hands down. His serve forehand combination would be too good.

Federer. Djokovic was playing out of his mind at the FO but still couldn't beat Fed.

Tricky one! I'd say Federer would beat Murray in the final. Murray's problem is that he hasn't produced when it really matters, if he's in God mode then he should probably make it to the final on grass. Federer at his best would be too much for him though.

Um, Federer's god mode would beat them all at Wimbledon in his prime. But 2011 Federer beating a 25yo Nadal? the 06 and especially 07 finals were tight, and Nadal was nowhere near God mode. Nadal would win in 4 or 5 these days.

Nadal at the 2010 USO was close to god mode. If that Nadal shows up, he'll run through the field.

Roddick's god mode on grass was Wimbly 09. I'd like to see anybody beat Roddick in that form besides god mode Roger.

I would say we win. The 07, 08, and 09 final was really exciting :) And those were just two players in the final.

If you are saying the whole field is in their God Mode, can you say most exciting grand slam event ever, regardless of who wins?

Roger at his best is not losing to anyone on grass. In his era or any other era. I think its a no brainer. You poll 5000 people this question and he'll hit close to 70% on this poll I would imagine.

Actually, I thought only Federer can turn on God Mode. Other players' highest modes are not so godly.
But if they were, I would pick Raonic over Karlovic, or otherwise.

Only Federer has God Mode. Other players' highest modes are not godly enough to be called that way.

I know this is controversial but I'm going to say Soderling.
And I know the game I'm thinking of was on a different surface at the French Open against Federer in 2010 but I don't think I've ever seen such a devastating display of tennis as that.
    Simply impossible to play against.
And Federer was playing fantastic tennis that day but no one could have stood up to that.
    My opinion of course.
If Soderling could somehow bring that form to Wimbledon...

Nadal of course. Federer in his prime and playing his best was lucky to beat developing Nadal in the 2007 Wimbledon final where he was destroyed from the baseline all match, but survived through a career serving day and Nadal choking the big points.

If he's playing at his very best-Roger.Of course that would mean he has to also stay strong physically and be prepared metnally during the later stages of the tournament. Not have lapses in concentration and everything.Of course, it's unfortunately a long shot at this stage but I hope it happens.

Did you watch that match? Federer should've won in straights.. he managed to choke away a break lead in the first set and failed miserably on break points. That was not Federer at his best, by any stretch of the imagination.

As a Soderling fan we prefer to call it "Devil" mode.

in Devil mode Soderling serves 145mph+ and hits consistent ground strokes off both wings at 80+mph,occasionally throwing in a mocking gesture between points just for the hell of it.

Soderling is unbeatable in Devil mode.

federere played at his very bests in 2008 and was unable to do it so it seem a hard pick to go with fed rights now. he should take hearts from appearance in best wimbeldon final ever.

Rafa has little say to the outcome of any match against top players in Devil mode. ****** doesn't have the weapons to dictate play, even little Andy Murray can over power him and hit him off the court or simply make him give up and quit the match, because he knows there is nothing he can do about it, playing against players capable of hitting winners at a much higher rate than himself.

Nadal is a product of the slowest era in the history of the sport, if court speeds didn't favor defense over offense for the past 5 years Nadal wouldn't be a factor on the manly surfaces. Here is what happens when a player plays the game like a real man and is in Devil mode playing offensive tennis against Nadal.

i think Karlovic has a great chance if he plays his best tennis. Also Tsonga. Typically more aggressive players benefit the most from grass, so while Murray is a great player, i don't think grass suits his defensive style that well. Not that it can't happen.

Tonight is a full moon, we will sacrifice a ******* virgin to unleash the Soderling Devil mode prior to Wimbledon.

The only problem is which ******* virgin to pick, no doubt there are so many to chose from here. We did this a couple of years ago, some of you may recall a poster who went by the name of Nadal_Freak.

Soderling and Federer both play nearly-unstoppable offense at best.
Same with Monfils and Murray for defense

I think Delpo playing out of his mind could beat anyone in the field easily. How is anyone suppose to return groundstrokes coming at 100+ mph.

You mean the last 10 years, also Soderlings game against Federer was by far more brutal with Nadal a sad second.

Really though Nadal is not the issue, since everyone thinks (myself included) that Federer is going to take it. It would be rather pathetic for Soderling to take out Nadal and then to lose yet once again to Federer in the final.

I suggest you re-asses what ard you sacrafice, or face 2009 all over again.
