At what rank do players get sponsored?

    Just curious to know, especially after watching the Polansky match.

    I know it varies, but generally what rank

    i saw on a bag check a guy ranked around 150 at the time was sponsored to some extent by wilson, becuase he mentioned the sponsorship, but to what if anything outside the free racquets he got who knows.

    My friend is ranked 2nd in his sectional and has a sponsorship, so I think most pros have a sponsor.

    Most pros would get free equipment etc but you would have to be at least top 50 or so to actually get paid to use stuff

    And that's what separates sponsorships from endorsements.

    I would think every top junior and professional players are sponsored.

    I think that those players who have contracts with IMG, Octagon or other sports management company have endorsements/sponsorships. I know that Ricardas Berankis (ex No.1 junior) has contract with IMG, which helped him to get endorsements from Yonex and K-Swiss. He states that sponsors provide not only free stuff, but also pay money according to the agreements signed. The ranking of Berankis is 530 at the moment.
