Bumped for the 2012 AO!
Where have u been mister?
Tired of the unfettered trolling and bickering by certain individuals
I only poke my head in occasionally these days
Australian Open 2012
Davy out first round in 5 sets to Cipolla
Chardy: vive le beau jeu !
Hewitt has played 10 5 setters at Australian Open. Now that's something.
Does anyone have the stats for Greg Rusedski? I remember he went through a period of losing every 5 set match he played. in fact, in the 1st rd of 2000 Wimbledon, he managed to lose to Vince Spadea in the 5th set, at that stage Spadea was on a 20 match losing streak or something.
And Rusedski still manages to have a big mouth
so basically Rafa is the best at not beating people in straight sets or in 4. meaning he has had more matches where he has had to labor to dispatch someone.
If you wish to compile it, post and I'll add it to the list of retired players
Greg Rusedski's 5-set record is 11-16 (a 40.74 winning percentage):

Youzhny vs Golubev
Youzhny vs Golubev going to 5
Added. Thanks Mustard
How about 2007 to up to now?
Rusedski retired in April 2007 after winning the doubles rubber in Britain's Davis Cup tie against Holland.
I thought so too. Thanks for the explanation, mustard. Goodnight!
I'll adopt Chardy if I don't hear from vive le beau jeu ! in the next day or so...
Chardy, Youzhny and Ferrero need updating
Mikhail Youzhny's 5-set record is 16-10 (a 61.54 winning percentage):
Juan Carlos Ferrero's 5 set-record is 23-18 (a 56.10 winning percentage).
All updated except for Chardy
Vive le beu jeu! did Chardy.
If he doesn't show up soon, I'll adopt Chardy
Nalbandian vs Isner (AO 2012)
Nalbo vs Isner going to a 5th
Tx Mustard (and vive)
Dolgo vs Kamke
Dolgo down 0-4 in the 4th
Looks like this one is going 5, too
Almagro vs Dimitrov likely going 5
Almagro will need updating
i'm back, bud and mus: chardy is updated... unfortunately for him !
I've updated Nalbandian, who lost that epic to Isner. Nalbandian is now 17-12 (a 58.62 winning percentage).
Too bad the umpire tainted that match. It was so excellent up until that point.
I think the next match that will go 5 is Roddick-Hewitt
Thanks for that Mustard. Not as bad as I thought although he did go through periods of losing 5 set matches in a row didn't he? In fact, I was at that match at Wimbledon in 2002 when he lost to Malisse. For a grasscourt specialist, Rusedski's Wimbledon record was not very good at all.
We're all hoping
One of those matches we all look forward to!
So far, Roddick leads their H2H 7-6 and has won their last 6 meetings
They've played two 5-set matches against one another and each has won one. Their last was 2009 Wimbledon when Roddick went on to play Federer in the final.
Appears Sweeting may take Ferrer to 5!:grin:
Up 5-3 in set 3 and will be serving shortly for a 2-1 sets lead
- - -
Sweeting up 2 sets to 1!
Annoying really, because Hewitt had a comfortable head-to-head lead over Roddick when they were both close to 100%. Hewitt hasn't beaten Roddick since that epic semi final at 2005 Indian Wells where there were 3 tiebreaks.
Get your typing fingers ready Mustard!
Ferrer has to win the next two sets for an update. I can't see Sweeting winning this in 4
Sweeting is 1-1 (50%) in 5-setters
Sweeting is now 1-2 (33.33% in 5-setters
Ferrer d. Sweeting
Ferrer in 5 sets!
Ferrer updated. David Ferrer's 5-set record is 16-9 (a 64 winning percentage).
kei needs to be updated...
Ah. Updated. Kei Nishikori's 5-set record is 4-1 (an 80 winning percentage).
Isner vs Lopez
Isner vs Lopez going 5
Lopez d. Isner
Tomic - Dolgo in the 5th set
May have to add Tomic to the list if he wins this
That's why you're the talk tennis guru.......
Comment: I think you should update the records with a - instead of a /.
When I read 7/9, it reads seven out of nine, instead of 7 wins, 9 losses. I'd advice it should read 15-3, 4-1, 7-9, 4-6 instead of 15/3, 4/1, 7/9, 4/6
Agreed. Get on to it, Bud
Lemme think about it
Anyone want to compile Tomic??
Also, Kukushkin def Monfils
so Monfils drop to a 9-4 mark.
Tx.. Will update it now
Looks like a potential 5-setter between tsonga and nishikori
Both need updating
Nishikori and Tsonga updated.
