    Murray and Djoker need updating

Funny how once again this was a good predictor of the eventual winner :)

I've updated Murray. He's now 12-6 (a 66.67 winning percentage) and I'm hoping Nadal wins this tournament. If he does, it will be a huge lift off his shoulders.

Congratulations to Djokovic. After a long time someone beat Nadal over 5 sets. Another bastion crashed.

    update: Nastase ?

according to this post (from a thread in the 'former pro' section), nastase would be at 42-23 (64.6 %)... but i don't have the complete list yet ! let's see if we get some solid reference...

    update: including Antwerp results ?

cf. this thread (in the 'former pro' section):
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=414858

shouldn't we include the following 'diamond racquet' results ?

Is it only those four from the most recent DC? I don't follow DC too closely and rely on you and Mustard to keep me in line ;)

    - - -

Go ahead and create the Muller 5-set post (with nothing else) and I'll link to it in the OP

    - -

I'd like to get Mustard's opinion on both Nastase and the 'Diamond Racquet' issue. If he concurs, then update Nastase... let me know and I'll update the OP.

    Thanks!

We started it before the ATP started listing 5-set results. The ATP site still doesn't list the actual matches played .. just states the win/loss record.

I'll keep it going until that happens.

    - -

BTW, if you like it.. give it some 5-star love ;)

Also no surprise that Sampras has a better record than the crying goat, after all Pete was a lot more mentally tough and had bigger balls.

Hmm. I'm not so sure about that late year Antwerp tournament. It was a very solid tournament and was hard to win. A player got a diamond racquet if they won the tournament 3 times in a 5-year period, but wasn't this tournament classed as an exhibition? On the other hand, it certainly seems a lot more impressive than the Pepsi Grand Slam and the ATP list that on their website.

I'm reluctant to include it if the ATP doesn't include it on their website stats. I'd like the info here to match that as closely as possible.

good point with the pepsi grand slam, mustard: in the former pro section, some (most ?) members seem to think it's illogical that it's listed in the ATP database whereas antwerp (European Community Championship) still isn't.
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=414858
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECC_Antwerp
i'm in favour of their inclusion in the 'databudbase'. ;)
simon, benneteau: to be updated after AO.
fish, ferrero, wawrinka: to be updated after the last DC ties.
(and maybe more that i'm forgetting ?)
    ok... done !
    (previous post)
in fact updating nastase's record has nothing to do with the diamond racquet... it doesn't seem to be complete yet, but we've progressed since yesterday ! ;)
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?p=6353435#14
only 2 matches appear to be missing...
Nb: we're dealing with the ultimate borderline... of the open era.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to include them since we are listing matches and results. If they differ from the ATP site, someone can comb through these for any differences.

Whose records are affected by the Antwerp Diamond Racquet tournament? Is it just Goran and John? Was it only the final that was 5-sets?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECC_Antwerp

    - -

I missed Simon and Benneteau after the AO?

I'll update Fish, Ferrero and Wawrinka record based on the most recent DC ties.

Go ahead and update Nastase based on the list in the other thread (since you're responsible for his record) and I'll update the OP.

You may as well include the Antwerp results, Bud. It was no Mickey Mouse tournament. I've updated the records of McEnroe (now 26-13, 66.67%), Mecir (now 8-7, 53.33%), Ivanisevic (now 27-14, 65.85%) and Leconte (12-13, 48%).

Vive, the McEnroe vs. Mecir final in Antwerp was in 1986. The 1987 final was a 4-set Lendl win over Mecir.

Bud, you need to move Mecir down the table, below Vilas, Bruguera, Courier and Agassi. Also, you need to move Ivanisevic up the table, above Wilander, Lapentti and Hrbaty.

Mustard lists all of Borg's 5-set wins. Look through that list and let me know which matches you feel should not be included :)

Take into consideration that the ATP results may not be accurate ;)

Exactly the reason I've continued updating this thread with invaluable input from other TT members. Until the ATP has all the bugs and errors worked out of their database and includes the matches played (which will verify their statistics), I'll keep this thread alive.

sad news... gulbis just lost to the #544 player (fucsovics) 6-7(7) 6-3 6-4 4-6 6-3 in the hungary-latvia davis cup tie. :(

seriously, what a painful waste of talent......

    I've updated Gulbis' record.

As for Gulbis, his attitude towards tennis is reminiscent of the amateurs in the pre-open era days. You're not going to beat the professionals with that sort of attitude, and now Gulbis is losing to a player ranked 544 in the world. Congrats to Fucsovics.
