Djoko hasn't played very well all week if you ask me. I saw his last round and remember thinking: if that's the way he plays vs a better player, he's toast. + he's always had problems vs Haas in particular.

What a Win for Tommy. Had me cheering for him at the tv, lol. He has such raw talent, his wins over Federer on grass last year and Djokovic in his home State of FL do not seem like flukes.

Haas displayed some good, oldschool all-court tennis...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZm8g-bDNQk

He has been playing well lately. His match against Gulbis could have gone either way and he won a tough match against Almagro at IW. I'm not sure if he has the stamina to string along enough matches like this at a 1000 tournament though. Dimitrov could do worse than learn from Haas about fighting for wins and not being intimidated.

    Haas would crush that nobody...

With a win over Federer on grass and a win over Djokovic on hardcourt, all Haas needs now is a win over Nadal on clay for the trifecta, hat trick, whatever....... :)

He's the only one among the top 5 who does not have a title yet this 2013, so he should get this.

Congratulations to Haas, the flagbearer of the weak era that is still taking down top players of the strong era. Hope he goes all the way after this victory, though I know it is unlikely.
As for Novak, I think this was a combination of him having a not so great day and an on fire opponent. Hope he gets his act together for the long clay season ahead as he is the only one with an outside chance of stopping the Nadal juggernaut on clay to make things slightly interesting.

I think Haas only has one MS title, it would be nice if he wins Miami, great player, suffered a lot due to injuries

Haas' groundies were so solid - and he got to net when the chance presented itself. Didn't deviate from the plan or get upset with any of his own misses. And obviously Djokovic threw in a decent number of UEs.

@Gonzo_style, there were plenty of stretches where Haas was not injured; he was his own worst enemy - would let one or two errors or a bad call get to him and he'd implode. Marriage and fatherhood seem to have been very good for him.

I'd love to see Haas go all the way now but realistically Murray and Berdych are the favourites now.

Wouldn't find that that much of a shock upset if it happens, gamewise I actually think Cilic is a tough match-up for Murray but he's a headcase and Murray has become an excellent competitor over the years.

    Hasi does it again! result!

Really glad to read news on Tommy's win over Boss.
    Mixed things up nicely.
Looks like the tournament is wide open...glad I picked..

    No-one!

Great chance for anyone to win a Masters.
Gr8 for Tommy too but don't know how much longer his shoulder can hold out.

It's actually called strategy. No one can beat the Joker playing power tennis toe to toe. Certainly not Haas. So why would he try? You implement the best strategy to win. You play to win the game!!!!

true... berdych is on form and has that recent win, but Richard has a leading head to head (if only marginally so), has a good win over almagro behind him and the 2nd set was close at IW. could go either way, even though i still have berdych as my pick for this tournament.

i expect a three setter. should be fun.

Nadal should've played Miami. Might have had a chance, depending on his stamina and physical health, to do the Cali/Miami double.:)

there are articles saying he's the oldest in 30 years, but they aren't naming the player or the #1 he beat.
