    Nadal all the way.

However, there is a slight possibility Federer wins if they meet in the final and Federer is 'HOT' (everything works),

Just watching the Safin - Delic match. Poor poor Safin. I looks like he's not even trying in that first set. Delic plays pretty good.

Bags beat Moya 6-2 6-3 and saved 8 break points during the match on clay
Also Haas retired so he's out of the way too...

He served 90% of his 1st serve in and took advantage of 4/5 break points to finish the match with class.

This guy is nuts. He gets an easy draw and loses in the 1st rounds and when he gets the worse draw possible he starts with an amazing performance. He gets off with difficult challenges it seems and the coach seems to have helped somehow judging from his last appearances.

    Just a thought:

"Man, the Tennis Channel commentators SUCK BALLS!"

Why can't tennis have someone who is knowledgeable and analytical (possibly a former touring pro) comment on the matches? NBA Playoffs have Sir Charles and that other guy and things like that. They are just repeating what we see, and without much insight.

For example, the Safin vs Delic, Safin tried to run Delic side to side in the first set, which didn't work and he got owned. Then Safin just tried to hit at Delic and forced Delic to hit winners, and that worked as Delic broke down and Safin got into the game as he was hitting more balls.

Do the commentators on TC realize what's going on during the game?

If that's the case, then Karlovic will surely win the title, no?

edit: Safin's serve is as good as Delic. Why did he never do well on grass?

Safin's volleys suck big time, where as delic is a natural serve and volleyer, have done so all his life during college, and is improving his return game and his backhand. That is the difference.:D

Delic still has a great deal of work to do make it to the 3rd round of Wimby. With the Grass Courts playing slower and players hitting better returns Delic will be owned pretty quickly, since he has below average Pro Groundstrokes.
Safin, well he is Safin. He can beat anybody on a given day, but he can also lose to anybody on a given day. Pretty sad since he is so gifted athletically, but mentally he is very poor.

Karlovic cannot move like Delic, Delic is a great mover. Karlovic doesn't have the return game and no groundie and bad volleys. Delic is great on all these shots. how can you even compare them ? NO Comparison....

Karlovic is one of the best volleyers out there. Have you seen him play doubles? He have some nice and solid volleys, off both wings.
It's his movement and return game what's hindering him.

I concur. Karlovic is a monster to play against, especially in fast courts.

Goran didn't have a great movement/return game, but fared well in Wimby.

I somehow disagree with that. He had an OK return... with a very good backhand return, and a somehow poor forehand return. It was he was hitting late on his forehand.

And his movement wasn't Nadal's... but he was quite good and athletic for a 6'4'' guy :p

Almagro was robbed in that game. First, he has to reply a break point he had won and then he hits an ace (as the hawkeye proved) and it´s called out.

Very impressive performance from Fed. He was up for it and dealt with Almagro quite comfortably. Almagro, for his part, played 2 loose service games and that was that.

Almagro played a horrible match. He is a righty version of Verdasco. No brain, no game plan, lots of unforced errors. He is way overrated. He isn´t a threat for top players on any surface.

I could not see the match. Was Roger still erratic on forehand today with a low first serve percentage as has been the case over the last few months? Or was the performance better today?

Fed was good on all aspects. He only faced 1 break point in the entire match which he saved. A very good clinical performance overall.

Yes, he was good today, far better than over the last couple of months. Very very controlled and hardly any shanking of balls. His forehand appears to be back, albeit in slightly moonball mode (which worked well), and his serve % was much better.
