Wonder too. I think somewhere around midnight GMT. Which is 1 AM in central Europe. But I'm not sure.

At 9:30AM AEDST. So, about 6 and half hours to go, I think.

The official website will broadcast it live here.

Djokovic can beat Murray and Federer back to back on this surface.
Federer can't beat Murray and Djokovic back to back on this surface.
Federer is 1-2 and 3-6(sets) against Djokovic at the AO. Although nobody can really count 2007 since Federer is worse and Djokovic is immensely better and the surface has changed from rebound ace to plexicushion. Although Federer has won the AO 2010 on plexicusion, he has not been able to solve Djokovic on this surface.
If Federer gets Berdych, Murray and Djokovic, he's not gonna win this tournament. I can see Djokovic going through ALL of those guys though.

Agree on all counts but if Fed draws Ferrer and Djokovic draws Murray then Fed would have a very good shot at the title as he'd only have to face either Djokovic/Murray in the final.
And I still feel on a good serving day a highly motivated Federer(knowing at the back of his mind that he has a shot at the title) could take out Berdych in a tight 4 setter.

I largely agree with you, though I would excempt 2008 as well (mono). And 2011 - well, Djoko was freakishly good there.
All in all - massive surprise if Fed can go through Murray and Djoko here (despite of Wimbledon). And even if it ends up being Djoko-Murray, Fed-Ferrer, I still might favour Djoko a bit in the final given the surface. If it's Murray-Fed in the final, I say advantage Fed though.

Of course fed can beat berdych. I think actually the slower surface helps fed against berdych.

Thanks! I took the time from the page I linked. Hope they do a real live broadcast and don't delay the web broadcast like what happened at US Open draw... That's my first world problem of the day.

But even though he had a marathon against Murray in the SF Novak still had enough in the tank to dispose of peak GOAT Rafa in the final, what makes you think he wouldn't be able to repeat that feat against brokeback geriatric Fed? Murray of course could easily do the same, we all know he owns Fed.

However, I do applaud your worst case scenario mindset, that way you can only be pleasantly surprised (no more terrible shocks like Wimbledon last year, please God no!).

Fed and Nole will be paying closer attention to the draw than Murray. Be good if Andy met Del Potro in the quarters, long time since they played.

Is it just me who will feel more worried if Federer will play against Berdych and less worried when Fed plays against Murray and Djokovic? When playing against Berdych it always seems like Fed doesn't have much time on the ball and shanks a lot, plus Berdych won their past 2 slam meetings so their might be this mental edge. Whereas for Djoker and Murray, his performances against them in the WTF makes me feel better. Either way I'm just worried about an upset rather than Fed being defeated in the semis/final. Delpo for now I won't worry about him too much because it is Bo5 and Fed defeated him in the AO last year 4,3 and 2. (maybe the other way round)

4 more hours! Getting more and more excited. :)

I don't think anybody is capable of beating Ferrer 15 times in a row. Or is it 16? I can't remember.

I never watched a draw ceremony before. Can someone please let me know how that works?

Will they pick the seedings or draw one name at a time and fill the bracket?

The seedings are already set, so I think they start off by placing the seeded players in their spots

No, Murray. What's the point of not having Berdych in your way when you are faced with having to go through Murray and Djokovic to win the Championship?

He has to go through Berdych first to get to Murray. And Berdych already showed he can beat Federer after having done it twice (Wimby and USO) and also being up 2 sets to love at AO 2009.

Roger is underdog in this one. Maybe that's a good thing, because he has nothing to loose.

Federer won't win the AO. He's not got the ability to go through this field of talent. How is he going to grind with the likes of Berdych, Murray and Djokovic? Murray is a better player now as is Berdych.

He has a lot to lose IMO. If he loses, it means he lost another chance to get the #1 ranking and another chance to add to his Slam tally. 18 Slams is better than 17 Slams, no? :)

Fed could take out Berdych but Murray is a tough call, unless Murray turns into Mugray.

I saw the USO draw livestream last year. The drawsheet was already filled with all the non-seeded players in the places (I believe that was generated randomly by a computer). Then at the top and bottom you see Federer and Djokovic's name, because they're there and won't go anywhere. After that a guy put's 2 chips labelled '3' and '4' in a cup (the USO trophy?), says the slot in the draw, then picks one up without looking it, announcing that the chip belongs to that slot. Then they do 5-8, 9-16 and 17-32.

Dunno if the AO is the same though.

Federer is still capable of blowing people off the court. When he's on, he doesn't have to grind with anybody. Just look at how he dismantled Murray at Wimbledon when he found his form.

No, if Federer draws Murray his chances go down drastically. Will never count him out though because he's Federer. If Djokovic draws Murray he can still win as he did last year, but it will be harder for him.

Getting excited, I always love the build up to a major, almost as much as the actual tournament!

Predict the draw (top 8 seeds)! I'm going with:

    Federer-Tsonga
    Murray-Del Potro

    Ferrer-Berdych
    Djokovic-Tipsarevic

I'm more interested in the draw for the likes of Dimitrov, Raonic, Tomic and Nishikori though, really want the next generation to finally step it up. Hoping for a kind draw for the veterans Haas, Davydenko and Rusty as well!

This talk of Berdych is ridiculous IMO. I predict Federer will beat Berdych if they play. My other prediction is that Berdych won't even make the QF's.

The only players placed are Djoker at the top and Fed at the bottom, since they are 1 and 2, everyone else is supposedly random.

Just like that Fed/Tomic match last year, I'm sure Fed will give the Jerzy boy a clinic in movement on the court.
