Johnson takes the first set 6-4 after a good 20+ ball rally

this kid Kokkonaer is very talented and is only 16 years old. he could make it big in the tour in few years.
And Donald Young will win the 1st round, he is playing a nobody

22, I think. this is best of 5 sets now. no idea why the aussie open officials decided to change this to 5 sets.

not really. Kos turned pro way too early many experts believe. He should have stayed in UCLA few more years or maybe even all 4 years.

This young Australian reminds me a lot of Djokovic. Could be a really good player in a few years.

his backhand looks like it could be better than Djokovic's. He hits it Huge and yet it is so consistent.

And a Djoko like comeback from match point to level in the 3rd at 5 all.

Also great to see this sort of live streaming from the event organisers themselves. I'll be down there next week live but it is always nice to see how some of the players I see at regional tournaments go when they get a chance like this.

Doesn't look like they're playing best of 5. It's 9-8 in the third for the 16 year old.

Good fight by Kokkinakis but looks like eventually he won't be able to claw back a service game.

The lanky aboriginal boy is keeping right up there with the NCAA legend. If this tiebreak keeps going for many days, it might shift the whole main draw schedule.

Just glad my kids didn't see it after how often I tell them that you don't win from volleys without footwork :)

That would make sense, but I am going with the chair umpire's call - he keeps saying things like "advantage Coconut"

So it isn't just me who things that is what he is saying. Maybe an Islander?

And next up another good Greek/Australian boy Nick Kyrgios (pronounced ki-ree-os) so it should be interesting to hear how that ends up.

Johnson needs to shut up and just play, he's arguing over correct calls because they don't suit him. It's so annoying

He might be from another island or another planet altogether. Calls homeboy Coconut and overrules line calls left and right based on players' reactions and arguments. Kyrgios (if he gets to play this week) is up against it - Klahn can be lethal, he's no Johnson. I've seen that man in action and he is a beast.

    15-all!

That's 15-15 game score, not 15-15 in the current game.

Is this the Match of the Year or what ? Steve, USC Trojan guts it out like a fighter he is. He could make the quarterfinals of the main draw.

NEXT American super star Bradley Klahn coming up on center court. This guy will make top 50 one day.

As they interview Bradley Klahn following his beat down of Kyrgios they show his name on screen as Bradley Klein. I guess he'll have to win a few more before they'll get his name spelled right.
