Roger playing like that? 4 sets only because he is such a gent. Wants to give Bernard a hope for the future.

Roger ******** will gift Tomic the GOAT a narrow 2 sets to 0 lead, then come back as the Sexi-best-class Maestro and win the next 2 sets comfortably. In the middle of the 5th set ******** will return at 3-4 on his serve, giving Tomic the chance to serve for it. Then at 5-3, 40-15 on Tomic's serve, Sexi will return by smacking a forehand crosscourt down match point... come back and win the match 7-5 in the 5th, and the GOAT Tomic will say Sexi was lucky.

You heard it here first. :D

Roger will lock eyes with the GOAT, dash towards the net, and make sweet sweet love. With the GOAT.

[but ask yourself, who is the GOAT?]

It'll be interesting to see Tomic's reaction if he loses. He'll have to be nice against local favourite Federer! ;)

Gimmie a break! Tomic barely made it past brands yesterday.

i hope roger doesn't go easy on this kid; he could do with a proper thrashing. it will be good for him in the long term.

roger in 3 with a firm pimp-hand backhand for the match-point... The press conference afterwords is going to be amusing.

by now roger already figured out tomic, roger in straight.
    something like 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.
possibly tight first set, followed by routine smackdown

And, if there was a competition in complete cluelessness about the workings of professional sports sponsorships, you would probably clean the trophy cabinet. That was some gratuitous and childish dig.

Seriously, the only worthwhile criterion for Federer's taste is the way he plays tennis.

Well, when he comes up with those... hum... fancy? fashion accessories, surely he expects some kind of reaction about them... Isn't that the whole point really? Those shoes are a good match for his golden purse :)

Ha! Tomic did next to nothing with his service return for the entire time I watched his match yesterday. Federer won't let him get away with bunting paceless balls onto the service line. Fed in three, and I can't wait to see it.

Sigh. This may sound condescending, but trust me, it's not. Let me educate you, because you're clearly not up to speed with this after so many years of watching tennis.

    (1) Most of the time, the player does not come up with those fashion accessories. The company, in this case, Nike, does.
    (2) All of the time, the player does not care about the kind of reaction. The company, in this case, Nike, does.

On TV they show players working together with the company's fashion designers. They show people talking about their fashion. Maybe, this misleads you, I'm not sure. It is usually a sham, just more publicity. They say it and they forget about it. You should, too.

Someone's getting a spanking. Ain't gonna be the guy with 17 big ones in the trophy case. Bernie may win this event some day - but not for a yr or two or four.

    Fed in 3: 7-5, 6-3, 6-3.

Ho hum...really big, very physical men wear a lot of pink every week in October on NFL fields throughout the US. Move along, no big deal...at least it wasn't an improperly vented shirt he and Schnike chose.

The funny thing is that the media recognizes exactly what they have to say in order to attract viewers. Any viewer will do, so they (consciously or not) pander to the lowest common denominator. ESPN showed this video highlight reel of Federer v. Davy. It ran for a measly 43 seconds, and the first 20 or so seconds, the dumbasses were talking about his attire.

What can I say, they know their audience.

Now that Federer has battled his way through a journeyman and an invalid retiree, he gets to play a delusional disadvantaged local immigrant schoolchild.

After all Tomic's talk that he is going to beat Fed, it's going to be pretty embarrassing for him when Fed wins. I say Fed in 3.....4 if Tomic is lucky.

You can't beat ole batzie. :)
Nuffin' much, my dad has Alzheimer's, so I spend most time looking after him.

Anyway, I actually like that Tomic kid, didn't say anything out of line, if yer ask me, just sad that they are meeting early. I wish Davy hadn't met Ro- ..er.. Sexi so early. Would have liked to see Davy go deeper into the draw.
