These 2 are by far the most in-form players starting from day 1 of the women's championships. Who do you think is going to prevail?

I'm rooting for Petra. If she keeps her focus she should do it!

I say Petra in 3 but will root for Azarenka as she didn't win anything big so far and I like her a bit more.

    Connors in 5? Nostalgic much?

I like both, but pulling for Petra.

For the love of god, I hope it´s Azarenka.
Nothing, not even de Brito´s shrieking is more annoying than Kvitova´s barking.
But I would root for Azarenka anyway since she´s among my favorites.

Shaky game for both players so far.

    Kvitova holds for 1-0.

Petra needs to fine tune her return of serve. It is so hit or miss with her.

ARF that! Petra drop shots Vika to force deuce.

BP for Petra... and breaks with a brutal FH DTL winner.

    2-0 Petra.

3-0 Petra. That FH winner was almost Nadal-like from Petra.

Serena had trouble with Kvitova in the Wimbledon semis and Kvitova is twice the player she was back then. Even though she lost in straight sets Kvitova had more winners in that match too, including the aces of Serena. As everyone on this forum knows I am a big Serena, but Kvitova in the zone would overpower anyone right now, including Serena (who lets face it is entering her 30s and hardly PeakRena anymore although will still probably win multiple more slams against the current crop).

I'm very curious to know how Serena would handle Petra's game now.

Serena did beat Petra 76 76 in the '10 Wimby Semis.

Serena straight setted her back then, and if they played the final today I would still stick with Serena considering her mental strength.
I am impressed by Kvitova this year, but Serena would be too much Serena to handle for Petra.

5-0 Kvitova already? This could be quicker than that 45 minute Wimby beatdown Kvitova put on Wozniacki last year. Wake up, Vika!

Serena won't be meeting Kvitova as much, and Serena has many off days now. Kvitova shoul be able to beat her plenty of times.

It was actually 7-6 6-2 and Kvitov would have won Wimbledon last year as well if not for Serena.
I don´t see any difference between Kvitova W2010 and Kvitova 2011.

    Absolutely, mate.
The thing is, that Kvitova has a lot of lapses and breakdowns especially when she´s in the lead.
She would win the first set only to lose the second instead of closing it out.
See Kvitova-Azarenka W SF and some others.
Against Serena stuff like that is going to break your neck.
As soon as Serena smells the rat, it´s over for you.

I bet Azarenka is going to win the second set.

Kvitova doing her best to remind us that this is the WTA. 5-4 on serve now. Kvitova's been broken to love two times in a row.

5-4 Never in doubt I told you so.
Azarenka is going to blow the momentum and choke this away, but Serena would blow you off the court.

This is still WTA headcase club and Kvitova is also a member.
