I loved the spin from the 16g BG, but as far as playability, I much prefer BA micro. So, I think I'm going to try either 17 or 18g BG, possibly strung down a couple pounds from the BA, to try and find a happy middle.

What do you think? 17 or 18?

umm, it's actually #46,502... get your facts straight!! ;)

17g worked for me, but in a hybrid,,, some here, including me have hybrided BG with BA! that's the happy BA/BG middle!

    oops, typo. :)

Yeah, not that I think about it, I think I'll go 17 or maybe even stick to the 16 but try different crosses.

I love the BA 1.22. Great power. control is a little less than the 1.25 but still really nice. I used the 1.17 BA and the titan 1.30 crosses and that was one of my best setups. Really nice feel and power. I've got some full sets BG 1.25 and a half set of 1.19 BG if you want to trade anything. From looking at your handle, with your location, mail should only be a matter of a day, just let me know.

J: I've only got 252 posts to go before I join you in the Hall of Fame. Do they give you a yellow blazer like in the NFL Hall of Fame?

I just restrung my Extreme's with BG 1.28 and Titan at 53/55 a great hubrid once you dial in the tension.

PED Ok I did move up from 50. Like it a little better. The 1.28 is crazy.

Yeah, I really like the BA for the way it plays, but the crazy spin from the BG is just so fun. That's what got me thinking maybe the thinner BG would give me the a good balance.

I'll take a look at what I've got to trade at the house. I only string for myself, so it won't be much.

Ah...techie humor. I've always had a soft spot for "ID-10 T" and PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard".

^^No problems either way, it's just an easy way for you to sample the BG. I'm the same way: I just have inventory around for me.

    PED,

Is your PDR 16 X 18 or something else? My racquet is 18 X 20, and I think because of that I tend to like thinner gauges like 1.20 or even 1.15.

HOOD, the PDR is a 16X19 and I agree with you that the string pattern is a big big factor in gauge happiness. I would def be playing with 1.20 or less with and 18X20. In fact, other than the BG, I use 1.22 or less usually.

On a side note, I have my BA 1.22/Sensation hybrid: I still like it at 54/56 but I'm going up to 55/57 or 56/58 next time. I have really have some issues lately with balls sailing long. Of course, it could be the tennis version of PEBCAK, but I really am having a hard time with the multi cross after a long time away from them.

Lloyd, I didn't know I had these sets, they were at the bottom of my string storage. :) I'm def open to swap. I've also got some 1.18 SPPP as well. Just let me know.

JCS: Do you know what are the shipping rates to mail to the UK? I saw you mention it earlier. We have a postal meter at work but I have no idea how much to stick on it if I want to ship something to Lloyd.
