I noticed that all the pros (ATP and WTA) that use a Pure Storm family frame have the regular Pure Storm PJ.
    Nobody has the "Tour" PJ.
    Why is that?
Or are those player indeed using the Pure Storm (I would be very surprised).
Or it's a company policy to advertise only one model in this family?
    cheers,
    g

Ps I searched the forums but could find anything about this. If it has been already discussed I'd appreciate a link to the thread(s)

Its because the regular storm is more useable to more people than the heavier tour version, all about marketing. In the mens game not many players at all would use a 295g frame. Nearly all Babolat players are advertised as using rackets aroung 300g. The fact is they all user heavier frames customised but for marketing, esp juniors its better for them so say the players use the mid weight frames

Alejandro Falla is one of the few that uses the tour version. When I saw him on TV his PST GT looked almost white.

I owned all Pure storm series and GT version is much stiffer and IMHO all pre GT versions are better rackets if you like softer response from a racket. Pure Storm Tour GT reminded me a bit of k95...

The majority of the Pure Storm players on the tour aren't using any version of the Storm. The bulk of them (though not ALL) still use the Pure Control (regular or plus version) under a Pure Storm paint job. As suggested above, the use of the regular PS paint job, rather than the Tour versions, is due to marketing, as Babolat believes the lighter Pure Storm has a greater potential for sales among casual players (the ones most likely to choose a racquet based on what a pro appears to use). They want those customers to have a good "initial pickup experience"...meaning they want the racquet to be easy for a recreational level player to use from the start.

so there are no pros using the 300g babolats?
the APD is 300g and customized by Nadal and Tsonga, correct me if i'm wrong.

There are no pros I'm aware of on the men's side that use an actual Pure Storm (non-tour). I'm less informed about the women. The APD is actually slightly over 300g stock (about 305 unstrung). If I remember right, Rafa's is roughly 330 or 332 strung, so there's some added weight. But that's irrelevant, as his layup is believed to be custom (notably lower flex than the stock) and is based on the 1st generation APD. Will have to check on Tsonga's.

The guy I've been hitting this week is a former touring pro and he uses the psl-gt totally stock. The ball that he produces with that low swing weight almost defies belief. SO heavy, SO deep and SO accurate. It's all about racquet head speed :)

It's a great stick, I owned one for about a month but I had to go back to an open pattern. Probably the best feel of any current stick: like butter.

agreed with most of the statement above. Most guys in the top 100 have Pure Controls painted to look like the latest Storms, etc.

A lot of the guys outside the top 100 are actually using PSTour and PSTour plus as Bab doesn't make the PC available to them.

Also, Harrison frame is not totally stock. It looks stock as there isn't any visible lead
