I know how many here were crying when Babolat changed to BT7.
I was getting low on my old stock of the orig. VS gut as I stocked up on it good a while back, and have been using Wilsons for a while as well.
I just ordered some Babolat VS from TW team order and what came in was the old VS not the bt7, so evidently TW sill has the orig. VS for those that are crying about it no longer avail.I was surprised when it came in today as I expected the BT7.
Maybe I was just lucky and they were dumping there old stock with me, but thats fine. I just thought that some others here may want to know so they can call and order if they still have it.
BTW it was the 16g. VS string.

What is so bad about the BT7 version of Babolat's VS Gut?
I have never tried but have heard many people complain about it.

Ive used old vs and new bt7. I like them both fine. But I always used a poly cross so maybe in a full bed it might make a difference.

I'll have a pretty good comparison in a few weeks.

Normally I'm a Pacific Classic guy (read: cheap), but I got a deal on some Wilson a few months back and have grown to like it. But that was a one-time deal, and now I'm running out. So I ordered 1 set of VS 17 to see what the BT7 thing was all about.

However, like acrhe3, its going to be used in a hybrid, so maybe it won't be so bad.

Since the switch to BT7, I now regularly have gut snapping overnight close to the grommets. Maybe its from mishits, or less-than-ideal stringing technique, but this never happened with other brands (Klip, Pacific, Bow) or previous VS formula.

As for playability, it's a little stiffer, but I don't mind this.

True stiffer and more snapping; but I've greatly reduced the later by storing the bag inside a locker at the club and never transporting it (although 2 strings just survived a trip to Europe for 2 weeks, by plane etc). Also talked to the stringer about the snapping, maybe he's more careful now.

Proof being that when another store strung one stick (probably without pre-stretching and too much tension in the crosses) it snapped in my locker after one hour of play and one week of storage...

I have also experienced early snapping with VS but not other guts.

I wonder if babolat has streamlined their processing in some way since adding the BT7??

Possibly answered in another thread, but what's the main difference between Tonic+ and VS?

    Anubis: VS = 1st quality

Tonic= lower quality, didn't pass QC for VS-level...

to expand, there's nothing wrong with Tonic other than cosmetic imperfections and gauge inconsistency (doesn't fall within the tolerance set forth for the 1st quality product).

I've used both and for the money difference, I'd use tonic every time. if I didn't like Pacific better. :)
