Can anyone compare these two strings? Which is Softer? Which has more power? Holds tension better?

It's easier to make the case for Prince's Premier with Softflex than for some others vis-a-vis Xcel 2008 because of the roughly $5 price difference. Neither is truly a power string, and both hold tension pretty well according to USRSA test results; Xcel 2008, though, is the more comfortable one, and it doesn't fray.

If it's price you're in for and you want just 16 gauge comfort, try Babolat's still-trustworthy Fibertour at under $9...

I played with babolat xcel 2008, and it felt very comfortable. can't comment on tension maintenance, but it's holding up fabulous so far. very soft and far from alot of power.

I tried xcel premium three times. The original xcel I did not care for. I then borrowed a friends FXP radical strung with xcel premium 2008 at 62lbs and I was hitting more bombs:confused: So I ordered xcel premium 2008 installed it on my Kneissl at 58lbs and hated it and had to cut it out. I should have known better. Hope this helps

If you are looking for more power why not just try xcel power
