Right now I use the Babolat XCell 16g but am looking for a string that is just as soft but will hold its tension better, which I assume both the Klip and the Yonex do. Can someone compare the levels of softness and power of these strings?

    Thanks.

I have Venom 16 in 2 of my racquets. Very very soft comfortable string even at high tensions. Seems to hold tension well too. Hope this helps.

used to use excel, however i do not like its "muted" feel, and holding tension wise is one of the worst i have encountered..... venom on the otherhand is soft multi with good feel and hold tension very good. i just ordered another 12 sets of venom last week

Of those you list Phenom is closest to Xcel.

Thank you all for your help.

I'm going to try both the Venom and the Phenom.

THe Tour Super 850 is significantly closer to Xcell than 850 pro spin. Tour Super 850 is not quite as soft but holds tension better and moves less; at its lower price point its worth a try.

The Yonex 880 Soft is what the OP needs. Not as good at holding tension as the 850s, but I'll bet it's a lot better than Xcell.
