All right, a thread to finally discuss the times where USPS, Fed Ex or UPS screwed up on shipping/mailing packages!

I'll go first. Basically, it's been over 6 weeks since TennisMaverick shipped my Boris Becker bag, and they didn't give Hominator, his subordinate, a tracking receipt. I didn't know where the package was at all. They said they tried to deliver, but I never saw them...

Tried to go to the post office, and the woman was completely useless about this whole ordeal as well!

Please, express your terrible moments! :)

I've had one lost package but it was handled pretty well. No other issues except the occasional late delivery during high demand times.

Frankly, I'm amazed that there aren't many more problems than what I hear about.

FedEx is usually good, but recently I received a double walled stainless steel water bottle that was crushed. How that happens is beyond me. :(

What a fascinating topic. Tens of millions of packages are delivered every day, a few are late or lost -- let's discuss it!!! Then we'll discuss paint drying.

That was a snarky and unnecessary comment. That is not needed here. :)

being a guitar aficionado, i do quite a bit of receiving and shipping guitars. that said, my preference for using said carriers is:

    1. fedex- they can be a pain on my end (especially shipping) but they've never damaged anything entrusted to them. good tracking and can schedule pickups.

    2. ups- i got a bass delivered by them once shipped in a hardcase that had one of the knobs sheared off/ the metal post that the knob sits on snapped off at the top of the guitar and they denied the damage claim. decent tracking

    3. anything else except

    4. usps- horrible doesn't even come close. 75% of things i've gotten usps have showed up wrecked when they finally showed up. i can almost build guitars faster than they ship them. you'd be better off calling ms. cleo or the psychic friends than using their tracking numbers and their estimated delivery dates are categorically jacked up. once i got something sent signature required but i didn't know it was coming because someone pulled the plug on ms. cleo so needless to say i wasn't home when the first (and only) attempt to deliver it was made. i did have a nice adventure though travelling all over town to various postal facilities to attempt to locate exactly where my package was waiting for me. remember that indiana jones "grail diary replica" that was supposed to go to italy but wound up in chicago? that was usps.

^^ actually it was a necessary comment very much needed here, intended to save marriages. If something goes well virtually all the time but you need to complain about the very rare times when it doesn't, you will spend alot on divorce lawyers. Complaining about rare human error --- THAT'S snarky!
