Each match i play by the time i reach the 2nd or 3rd set my wrist starts to ache badly and it really affects my game. I was wondering if there is anything i can do to stop this. Also i recently saw in the Aus Open final tht Safin tapes up his wrists, does this help alot, any ideas? Well any info would be reaaly good
    cheers :D

Honestly, I am not using any kind of tape for hands or ankles. Perhaps others know more.

I had a similar problem with my wrist. Someone here at TW said to switch to a softer string and losen the tension. It seemed to help.

This might help to understand the terminology:

You should also check this article at the same site

Where exactly do you have the pain: on the inside or the outside (back of the palm)? Also, close to the pinkie (ulnar area) or in the opposite site (close to the thumb? Also, during which shots (serve, FH, BH)?

Being only 14 and wanting to advance through the ranks, this make it an important problem to solve. Otherwise, you might be stopped in the tracks.

Give us your details on the racket, strings, tension, also, which grip are you using?

It might be a question of technique too, you might be to wristy on your BH, FH or serve. Kim Clijsters is out of action because of her wrist, Venus was for close to a year. I know Venus's taping her wrists now.

Ask a coach or a very experienced pro to look at your shots and analize your equipment.

You should be willing to PAY for that, it's the best investment you can make.

You might have too much "wrist snap" on your serve, instead of pronation. Or you migh be wristy on your BH (is it onehanded or two-handed) or FH.
