How come Baghdatis doesn't seem to have a clothing sponsor? He's in the top 30, has a pretty dynamic game, has tons of charisma, and has quite a few achievements in big stages. How come he's gone so long without a clothing sponsor? I'd figure that some company would pick him up as soon as he came back from injuries, but I feel like I've seen him sporting that Cyprus logo for over a year.

Maybe some insider on this board can shed some light on this topic.

Wouldn't one of the main things you'd ask for as a sponsor is that the player wear your logo?

Read an article yesterday that said Baggy has no clothing sponsor which is why his country's flag is on his clothes. I remember him being with Nike and then Adidas. I wonder why he got dropped?

Then again Davydenko no longer has a sponsor either and wears Dunlop clothes while playing a Prince racquet!

He fell down he rankings from 2008 onwards, so at the end of 2009 (I believe) Adidas decided to end his sponsorship. Baggy may use Tecnifibre clothes but I doubt he's paid to do so, hence the flag.

Davy is a completely different beast as far as sponsoring is concerned, but he is actually sponsored by Dunlop for his clothes.

Davydenko not having any major clothing sponsor since he's been in the Top 10, about five years or so now, completely baffles me. He was so excited to get sponsored by Airness but that didn't last long.

Odd that he is sponsored by Dunlop for clothes when, as of yet, he doesn't even use one of their racquets. Reminds of me of the push a few years ago that Yonex made to get Sharapova to wear their clothes.

    Q ratings & ATP rank

There are not that many players who sell product in the major markets. Davydenko has who for his target demographic? Some people are better cloth horses than others.

I assumed Baggy was sponsored by the Cypriot tourist board or something.

he is sposored by the Cypriot Tourism board and gets paid plenty to endorse the Country.
Very lucky man, i heard he gest way more than some of the top tier players get for endorsing sporting labels..
