My buddy "ruup2it" was hitting with the TW demos this weekend. He was using the Blade 16x19 with Wilson Sensation strings. He normally breaks strings once or twice each session, so it didnt suprise me that he broke the demo strings.

As he took a cut at a forehand, we heard a loud CRACK sound. At first, I though he had snapped the racket. But then I noticed, the ball flew backwards after his swing. In confusion, he looked at his racket. We all busted out laughing as we saw this big hole on the top of the frame. And the result is what you see in the picture.

Seen it a few times. Always with a big hitter, fast swing speed, and a not very good player (which accounts for the sweetspot hit). A major plus is the imbedded ball, which does show incredible racket feel and touch.
    Did he win the point?

I can't even break a string let alone fathom a ball busting thru them. How hard does this guy hit?

    Strong hitter, mishit OVERHEAD.
At 5'11" and maybe 132 in my playing days, I've broken a couple of frames and more than 5 strings on mishit overheads. Wood racket days.

Shanksville. Your buddy needs to work on his timing and positioning.

That's a freak of a breakage!!! Lol, thanks for posting.
Never seen it happen before, so I was shocked myself.

My personal racket is a couple of Pro Staff 85, with a pair of Prestige Classic Mid as back-ups, so hitting the center isn't a problem.

In my defense it was a demo. :D :D :D
Who knows how long these strings have lasted, and who else have been playing with it, so it wasn't just me wearing it out. I'd say I only had 30 min of hitting with it at most. Crazy!!!

This hitting session was after I've broken strings on 2 of my PS 85's. (synthetic gut) The blade 98 is a lot more headlight, so I was getting some pretty incredible swing speed. The open string pattern allowed so much spin, the balls would dip in last minute.

-Gotta double check the setting on that ball machine.
-How about that weightlifting opponent on the other side, using the new Babalot Pure Drive with a full set of poly.
-The result of practicing return of serves with Mark Philoppousis.
-Time to replace the stringer at TW.
    ...

Unfortunately, the shot went pass me through the racket. Damn I was there too, had the court open, easy forehand winner. Equipment malfunction, let.
New rule - no passing shots through opponents racket.

6 mains and I think a cross(if the cross didn't break off on a main that broke)? That's awesome!

That's just the strings getting cut on the grommets on a shank. Did that once with a demo (not that bad though), no one else noticed it was a shank but I thought it was an embarassing way to break strings.

    Awesome vid

I once saw a friend of mine get the ball stuck in the V on a volley. That's got to be one in millions.
