Anybody here heard of this racket? A person I string a ton of rackets for dropped one of these off, brand new, wrapper still on the handle. I did a Google search and couldn't come up w/ any valid links (I saw a few E B A Y, but they were invalid).

The funny thing is, a sticker on the throat says 'America's Oldest Racket Maker', but the sticker on the handle wrapper says 'Made in China'...

Haven't heard of that particular stick, but I'd love to get my hands on a Bancroft Classic 315!

Wow, who is the person that dropped it off?

She coaches one of the local high school teams. I'm assuming its one of her students', as I also string for her whole family and know what they use. I was trying to find the recommended tension range, but since I couldn't find anything, I went w/ 58. Here are a few pics:

16x18 pattern, so perhaps an Ace Tour or Ace Tour+ with recommended range of 50-60 pounds. Just noticed the "Tour Plus" on the racquet. Is so, it is a pretty current racquet as it is in USRSA spec book (looks like a fairly new design rather than NOS, too).

looks very similar to m-fil 300, Similar specs too other than more HL and string pattern.

^^And the Aerogel 300. Hmmm....16 x 18, so it is probably a few years old...McLovin, if you feel a dishonest force coming on, go hit with it for a few hours, and tell us what you think ;)

Well, I called & told them it was ready, but they haven't picked it up yet, so I may get a chance tomorrow. If I do, I'll definitely let you know how it hits. Maybe I'll wrap some overgrip on top of the plastic on the handle so they'll never suspect a thing...

McLovin. I did a search and there is a US website selling them. Can't post it here obviously but Google Bancroft racquets and it should come up. $195 seems a bit dear though!

It is the Ace Tour +. You are unlikely to see a lot of these on the court, but I would not bite at $195.00.

I just got an email from our local club, and this is one of the racquets they offered. I never heard of it before now.
