A buddy of mine just brought me one. His dad played professionally and passed recenty. It was still in the plastic bag with the tag on it, brand new. A very nice frame.

I remember that racket the Borg bancroft was basically it just more "lay-up" wood and fibre on the shaft. Dennis Ralston and Martina Nav. used it. bambo was used in the laminations.

Aside from the famous bancroft borg personal, I really like the executive and competition models with the fiberglass and steel laminations for super powers :)

I love the handwritten serial numbers on the Bancroft frames.

Most all collectors and players know that these handprinted production numbers and the "used by Bjorn in Tournament play" are just production markups. Many of the new collectors and auction sellers contact me asking how valuable the these rackets are, after finding them in the thrifts. Some even list them on the auction sites and fool bidders into thinking these are rackets previously owned or used by Bjorn.

what happened to Bancroft? it was the highest quality pro tool in its time, made by a family of the best racquet inventors and engineers ever! tha'ts why world's #1 used it for over 5 years in a row when he played in the US.
