As much as I'd like to see Milos getting past Verdasco playing "real tennis", I wouldn't count on it. Especially in Fernando's home country.

Verdasco is losing to nobodies this year.....so I like Raonic chances. Berdych though should beat Dimitrov.

I would much rather see Gulbis vs Dimitrov in QF. that would be AMAZING! i'm surprised nobody else has mentioned that as a great potential matchup.

I can see Gulbis defeating Raonic. One is inclined to say Raonic isn't that good on clay, though he did play very well here last year. Tough to call.

Gulbis is going to beat Raonic, he isn't good enough on clay yet to stop the force that Gulbis has become recently.

I think it'll be Berdych v. Gulbis in the QF.

And then Berdych thumping Gulbis. Gulbis will play well for about a set, and then get frustrated and start spraying balls all over the place.

I don't even get why OP listed "Verdasco bt Raonic" as an option instead of "Gulbis bt Raonic". As if Verdasco is capable of beating 2 good players back to back. He loses to everyone these days. How is he even seeded? When did he go deep in a tournament? Speaking of rankings, why did Gulbis have to play qualies again? He's 53, how high does he have to be to get direct admission to the main draw?

    1) The OP was made before the Qualifiers were put into the main drew, so nobody knew that Gulbis would end up in that part of the draw.

    2) Gulbis' ranking should have been high enough at the cut-off date (it was after his Delray win) to get him direct entry here, but I think he registered for this tournament too late and so wasn't on the initial list. Thus, he either needed a WC (which all went to Spaniards) or to go through Qualies to enter the main draw.

It could happen. But then again, Gulbis is more focused this year and had few meltdowns. When he plays against top 10 players especially, he's focused. And I think Dimitrov has a good chance of beating berdych. It would be foolish to count him out.

I guess no one is expecting Robredo, on his home court, having much to say about PseudoFed advancing???

Really looking forward to Robredo Vs. Dimitrov. Glad to see Tommy back in action! I expect a good match. Let the better singled handed backhand win ;)

Gulbis is in rude health, should have the edge over Raonic. Verdasco was actually playing well, but Ernests was too solid.

To be honest, Gulbis Vs. Dimitrov would pretty pretty cool to watch, but there are a lot of good matches to play before then. Berdych was mentally strong against Davydenko, hitting the ball like a machine, and leaned on his serve to bail him out in the final set. Should be a big challenge to the winner of the Robredo/Dimitrov match.

This tournament is really looking interesting now. Potentially cool matchups.

Dimitrov should win after Robredo struggled to get by doubles player Marc Lopez today. You never know though. Robredo can always play very well on clay.

Yes, Tommy's only losses on the dirt this year are to Ferrer and Almagro. He corrected course well mid-match yesterday vs Lopez...maybe Barcelona is a tad slower than Casablanca, where he took the title with five nice wins, including vs Wawrinka. This could be a great matchup!

Last 24 hours have been pretty weird, Barca loses 4-0 and now Dimitrov. two shattering results

The better player won today, it happens. One match does not a career make and he lost to a poor Nadal.

Not me, but you were right:

    Grigor Dimitrov 5 1
Tommy Robredo 7 6 what a thumping in the 2nd set

    Milos Raonic 6 6
    Edouard Roger-Vasselin 4 2

Robredo -- always -- has class.

Too bad for the health of this thread:)

Raonic looking strong and he is breaking guys more now which makes him so dangerous as he is giving up much on his serve.

Welcome to the future of tennis. Nothing but a bunch of headcases. The amount of raw talent in the 15 to 50 is high, but these guys are just so freaking inconsistent it is amazing.

There is absolutely no time when Dimitrov should lose to Robredo. Especially not in straights. Especially not 6-1 in the final set. Ridiculous.

Dimitrov is at the age where he is supposed to be seriously competing for slams. At least getting to the quarters. But results like this... really horrible.

Unfortunately, it seems that again Raonic will not be streamed, as his match is not on center court

Raonic, beater by Nieminen at Monte Carlo. Was disappointed, so I think Dimitrov will will if they play each other in the next round!

and the old man does it:
