Yep yep, weather is great for the time of year now, yesterday 24°
We've played competition with the team, we have two wins in the bag, two more to go ;-)
Spain did me good although i have to admit i didnt play great, it's the stress of the game that takes control of me, hope it betters by playing more.
Barca, you seem like the right person to answer this, how do you deal with stress in the game?, i mean afraid to lose and by that you play awful :s

    Hi ericsson
Glad the weather better for you now.
never never be afraid to lose!!
i was the stress king, broke many rackets!! but looking back now i guess i had to be pump up to play well, had many people try things to help my game but didnt help me much, i did start flooding my mind with off court things when my head was in a mess which did help me alot.
    :)

My daughter is 16y. and she is playing ITF tournamnet and 10000 futures. Could you compare where is better to send her for few month, to CAR academy or CIT? I find the web page of CIT but I could not find the CAR?:?:?

Guys, I was at the Equelite academy belonging to JC Ferrero. It's teh best place I've been so far and I can highly recommend it. But it is intensive and you gotta be committed.

Crosscourt, they are only just beginning to open to outside players. It is mostly a junior academy. But that is what makes it so great. I was lucky to get the head coach training with me. He usually hits with JC Ferrero when he is there.... I had about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs coaching each in the morning and afternoon. Before and after each of these sessions, were dynamic warm-up, mobility and strengthening exercises. I have never played so much tennis and exercised that much while feeling so good. The physios and trainers there were really knowledgeable, very committed and caring.

The place itself is quite nice with hedges surrounding each tennis court. You can see the resort on their website. Around it however, there is close to nothing. But if you have a car, Alicante is about 1 hr away. The next village (10mns) is Villena. You can also stay in ferrero's own hotel which is 15 mns away and gorgeous. Bu that will b e more expensive.

    Hope this helps!

Austro -- very helpful thank you. What I really want to do is to get away, play some tennis, and still not be too far from London in case I have to get back in a rush. This sounds ideal.

Eminently possible. The closest airport there is Alicante, although Valencia is feasible too. I live in London as well. It's a very nice place that I can only recommend. The rate was Eur250 (Eur200 after some haggling) per day incl. accommodation, breakfast, dinner, snacks and all training (if they like you, you'll also get massages and T-Shirts for free). I was only there for a few days, so for longer periods they may well be able to give you a better deal. All the more so in the current financial environment...

I always do things direct. Just emailed them from the site. the guy handling these things there is Pedro Rico: prico@equelite.com

How long and when are you aiming to go for? What's your standard if I may ask?

Austro-- thank you. I plan to go for one week, and would like to go in Spring. Hopefully when the weather wil be reliable but it will not yet be too hot. But I think that they only have certain weeks available for adults. I am a good player by non-professional standards.

You can go any time. But there is only one indoor court... So main - albeit small- risk is rain.

    Hi
The yearly cost depends on what sort of tennis programe you are looking for,
If you can email what you are looking for that would help.

    Hola Barca Tennis!

Just got into Barcelona and am awaiting my racquet to arrive.
I will be here for a Month and would like to get in a lot of hitting.

Wanted to know where i can get a pair of Adidas Barricade 4 shoes in Barcelona??? I have been unable to find a tennis shop anywhere???

Also do you know anything about finding hitting partners??
I found the website Barecelona-tennis. It looks good??
Just wanted to get your opinion as you seem to be the man in the know in Barcelona.

    Thanks!!!

    hi JAC
You can get Adidas shoes in El corte ingles in the centre of barcelona, they have a very large sports section. you will find it hard to find any tennis shops as most of tennis sales are done with in the clubs.
Barecelona tennis is the best site to find players, just sign up and you will get emails every day with people who wants a hit.
    Many thanks barca!

    Clay courts open in Barca?

When do most clubs and hotels in general allow for use of the clay courts in Barcelona..? are they maybe already in use?

in some other places in europe its like in late april or evn may in some case.. denmark for example due to the colder climate

As far as i know it's open all year, it doesn't really freeze in Barca so no problem, the biggest problem with clay is frost.

    HI guys,

I am thinking of spending a week at the Sergi Bruguera academy. Does anyone have any experience with that? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a nice hotel in the vicinity (a bit more upscale)?

    Many thanks
