Has anyone experiienced a problem with the upper material separating on the front of the shoe at the flex point of toes/ feet? Mine are less than 3 weeks old and this has happened.

It stinks haha, because the rest of my shoe is fine! But I still need to sent it in for warranty :(. I have a habit of dragging my right foot when I hit slices and one handed backhands on the run. I'm still young (almost eighteen) so I can still slide a bit on hardcourts without dieing haha.

B7's are wider in the toe-box, grippier, last a lot longer via toe-drag vs B6's, and Nike has NOTHING on them overall/in any catagory. I'm 100% a fan.. colorways aside :)

I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I love the blue/orange colorway and the black/organge colorway. Those are well executed, I think.

A few friends who have tried the Barricade 7s say they wear out faster than previous Barricades. What's your experience?

In the winter, I play around 5-6 times per week. 1 hour-1 hour and a half each session. I've had my Barricade 7's for around 3 months and the bottom of the shoe hasn't even started wearing out yet. I tend to drag my toes but not even a bit of smoothness. I wore out my Barricade Team's Black/Red in 4-5 months. Completely. But, then again, I played 6-7 times per week for at least 2 hours a day.

Holy Jeeze, there are 7 now.

I'm not really a shoe guy. I think I've only been in this section of the board a handful of times and need some advice. I've only worn good ole Barricade II's. I really love the glove like fit of the II's there is no heel slip, which is big deal for me. 'm a bit of a slider even on hard courts, and the II offers a bit of ankle rollover protection, but more would be awesome. The II's get really hot, even in winter.

Question: Is there some version that has better lateral stability and has better ventilation that the II? can somebody catch me up here?

    Thanks!

Wore my 7's for the first time tonight :)
    • Fit is true to size unlike the 6's (don't order a 1/2 size larger)
    • More room (much more!) and flex in the toe box
    • Stability seems a bit better
    • Larger tongue
    • More secure fit (foot doesn't lift or slide forward)
    Good shoe

This is probably the best shoe ever designed for tennis.

The fit was absolutely perfect, stability was perfect, no tongue slippage, great flexibility, awesome durability for these two weeks so far, not to mention the really sick aesthetics.

It practically feels like the B5 without the tongue slips and clunkiness.

    Basically, the ultimate baseliner shoe.

tennis shoes aren't meant to be running shoes......I'd never use this for a general running shoe.

Barricades 5 squeeked on me. Only 1 of them, the left one. B7 do not squeek -- so far.

That's not what I meant. I should have said it's the best shoe I've owned, period. Whether it be a running shoe, tennis, walking etc. :)

B7 gsoat. Better than any other B. Better than Nike cb.

7 sits lower than 6. I like that.

I had the Barricade V, best shoe ever. The 6.0 was a disaster, and after 10 minutes in this new 7.0, for my feet, they're not much better. Yes they made the toe box bigger (like the V) but they changed the arch and the width at the arch (makes my foot feel numb now). I'm so frustrated that the Barricades don't fit me anymore. These are the only shoes that have kept my bowl-of-spaghetti ankles from falling apart, and now I feel SOL.

I've been trolling the web for some NOS Barricade Vs with no luck.

Any suggestions to either finding wide B-7s, NOS B-V, or another option with such a massive heel-cup and wide toe box?

Wow. Went to the Adidas store on Michigan Avenue today. That store is amazing, but The 7's were a big disappointment. They look effing awesome, but I'm glad I tried em on before I ordered them.

That shoe is just unwearable for me. The upper is really stiff overall, and the area right at the top where the last eyelet is, cut into my inside ankles like a knife. Tried three dif sizes, same deal.

The good old Barricade II's Ive been wearing forever, feel great from day one. The inner cushioning and inside padding is just so much better. I know fit is very personal ... but still I can't understand how so many people are liking the 7's.

I just wish the II's had a little better ventilation and a little more lateral stability. If it were not for those two issues I'd never buy or look for anything else.

Anywhoo that's my .02 cents fwiw.

These are such an improvement over the 6.0 it is like a complete different model. Not quite up to the Big Shot in terms of overall comfort and feel, but still easily one of the best shoe available.

Same here, it is just the left one. It may be because of the orthotics butt his did not happen with my nike's. Luckily they are amazing shoes, unlike the Nike 2k11s

Tried the B6 last year but decided not to buy as it felt like a couple of bricks and the arch support was too high so it was really uncomfortable.

Just bought these and are a massive improvement over the B6s. Brilliant color scheme too :)

Most important is that it fits really comfortably, arch support is perfect and plenty of room in the toe box. In other words, perfect.

I've played in mine 4x now and 5-hours today. These are by far the best Barricades produced. They fit like a glove from the mid-foot back and also have plenty of room in the toe box. They require no break-in either.

There is no lifting of the foot in the shoe when walking and the fit prevents the foot from sliding forward on short shots... avoiding blackened toe nails.

I'm curious about their durability since they changed the sole.

^^ I've had mine for almost exactly 2 months, and I'm about to send them in (and the court is just now getting hot in Texas). I'm in them about 25 hours a week on the court. I'll post a picture in kimguroo's thread before I ship them. They've worn the same as my 6's, but just a tad sooner. I love'em, though. Bud's description is spot on to my experience with the 7's.

The Q3 colourway is nice, esp the dark/ink blue and orange scheme. Someone posted a link to their catalog in another thread but now I can't find it. Anyone else saw that?

for me the 7s were better than 6 but in the toe it was too much room! also the forefoot cushion felt weird. an improvement but the V is still my favorite

Sorry - I gave some bad information. I pulled out my shoebox with the receipt and I got those at the beginning of January (not the end like I had thought). So 3 months of use, which is on par with my 5's and 6's.

If it's like the Team Barricade 2, there is a cavity in the left shoe (I believe). Just take out the removable insole, and it's underneath that.

When I tried these on, they felt sooo tight in the toe in a top to bottom sense. Like I was stepping on my foot. No way was I under the impression that I could wear my usual two pair of socks. Based on that experience, I'm surprised they rate this high. Are they all tight like that and people like them? Or did I try on a bad pair?

Did you try loosening the laces? :)

    What did you wear before?

I found they fit half a size small, I fit an 11.5 in the B7s just like I do in 3.3s, normally I'm an 11. I wear one pair of fairly thick socks.

Great shoes though, only things I'd like to see is a bit more tongue padding and pin hole air vents on the front two panels either side of the mesh in the middle front. Curious they went solid on these parts.

Sorry. The part I'm talking about is north of the laces. Wouldn't help.

Currently wearing a pair of B5s until the wheels fall off. Previous to that were some Barr Teams.

Wished Adidas had these as stock colorways since $200 for rainbow warrior kicks is just too steep. :(

For me, it was like 2 hours. It felt like the BV, so I got used to it pretty quickly.

I think others would agree that it's very fast to break into. It's a really comfortable shoe.

Im wearing the barricades 7 right now, and wow it breaks in SOOOO FAST!!! I was expecting to have to wear it for few days but I wore it once the day it came went out did light jogging, and then today I just wore it while surfing the net getting up every few seconds to try stretch it and its soooooo comfortable now, then when I first wore it. I also have the miCoach attached to the laces, But I read that you suppose to remove the insole somewhere on this post to put it inside the shoe Ill probably do that after I break these in for an hour or so more.
