I don't hate them, and in a sense I do like them. Odds are if I were Adidas, and needed new shoes, I'd consider these if for nothing else because the look fun.

Seriously, they're in poor taste. Further, these shoes are actually in violation of the United States Code of Federal Regulations, Title 4, Chapter1, Sections 8.d and 8.b:

§8.d: "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery..."
§8.b: "The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor..."

http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html#5 if you don't believe me...

It's one thing to show patriotism for the USA by wearing the flag colors red, white, and blue, but to have a representation of the stars and stripes on one's stinky feet seems particularly disrespectful when one thinks about it.

Well said...except for the fact that since flag burning is legal...wearing a shoe that sports your country's colors should be just fine as well. Let's think about this scenario as a "spirit of the law thing rather than the letter of the law." Anyway, I'd like to see the geographic breakdown of those who hate them. Any takers?
