Wow Jolly, you're back with the pro staff! Good news! I think you hit the ball so much better with this judging from the video footage, :)

If I'm ever near you we need to hit... I play that same attacking tennis. I'm just a little to ambitious with some of my shots... You have a little more pace on your shots... But I have SPINNNNNNNN!!!! The epic showdown...

I have no idea how I am going to end up playing, sometimes I hit spin, sometimes I hit flat, sometimes I grind, sometimes I attack.

I am just trying to get better at everything, I honestly like playing all the different styles. Each one has its own good points to it.

But for sure, I go to Florida to visit my grandparents on occasion, and if you are ever in NY by all means give me a shout. I have probably met 40+ people from the boards and hit with 20-30 of them.

Been working on my serve and FH, I feel like it is gonna be better but right now my timing is not quite there on it, so sometimes I am like 5 minutes early and miss horribly.

    Lol.

My body has expressed its displeasure at my decision to serve and volley at 6:30 this morning in the cold, on clay.

And I use clay in the most liberal definition.

    Jolly,

How tall are you? I swear in your last video you are starting to look more and more like Delpo... :D

By the way, love how your forehand is coming along. Just looks stupidly heavy.

    Thanks mate.

6'3"ish. Probably 175 now with my winter blubber on, 165 summer fighting weight.

Forehand is getting there, baby steps. Working on it as much as possible in winter but I mostly play dubs.

Why does everyone say the same thing?

Hit your serve from 90-115 with a ton of spin at 70% first serves, and put more arc in your ball from the back-court and you will be a nightmare to play. Stop trying to hit 130 serves and 100mph forehands.

They act like the object of the game is to win. I don't understand...

I was able to view early registrations for both events and I see epic 4.0 Westchester GOATman has entered.
Many other top tier 4.5s may enter at the last hour depending on Mixed Combo playoff cancellation blocks.

    Prepare for Battle.

Or, save your money and go GMOATing with me at Gossip.

Played with the blxps strung at 48 today, and it was a bit jumpy. Played 6 sets of doubles, and one set of singles. I got used to it pretty quickly, going to stay at 48 for January, then maybe try 46, but it feels like I am approaching the lower limit of string tension for me.

Have you ever ventured out to the low 40s, high 30s ranges in full poly? There's a surprising amount of control to be found there... People say there's more control at such super low tensions than in the mid to upper 40s, but I haven't tested this myself. It may be worth your while to give it a shot with one of your sticks.

There is quite a bit more string life when you go low.

I find the opposite to be true, the lower I string, the more topspin I have to hit to keep the ball in, the tighter I string the flatter I hit to achieve depth.

Nope... There's a point where the ball doesn't go deep if you go low enough... Just my experience.

I can't say I've ever hit that point. I've strung as low as 28lbs and it still had lots of pop. That being said it was with PHT which is a semi-lively poly to start with.

    Another blxps bites the dust.

Hit a forehand yesterday and the frame made a sickening crunch. I checked it over, and didn't see any cracks so I kept hitting and for the next few minutes any ball I hit in the upper middle flew way long.

It calmed down after a bit but none of my shots made sense, like I was mistiming the ball, it never did the right thing.

This morning it continued until I broke the string and switched to another frame, and then everything was back to normal.

Guess I'll strip off the bumper and grip and look for a crack.

If u hit with j011y u wood understand. The thickness of his balls is like hitting with a 6.0. Only 2 other dudes I've hit with make me huff and puff like J011y.

Videos are very deceptive. As is the power and allure of my man part.

Thanks, feels like it is about 70% now. It was so bad for years after I hurt my wrist.

My spacing and timing is still a bit shaky, but when I tag one I know the end result is going to be good.

Is your BH your dominant stroke? You look much more comfortable with your BH. None the less very nice strokes. Also, are you hitting with the ps90? I don't see many people use 2hbh with that stick.

We need an official beer for after (or before, or even better during) tennis.

can't go wrong with coors or miller lite...well you can do better, but you won't feel you're using your mouth to clean a bathroom.

    Interesting question.

My BH is more reliable, I plant better on my BH, my BH return is probably my best shot.

My FH is bigger, and I would consider it the dominant stroke, but I miss more with it, and don't return or hit it on the run as well.

Pickle, or others who have hit with me can probably give a better perspective.
