Good game for Starace, he's playing really well so far, being aggressive, not letting Federer push him around.

As for Federer, really needs to improve his game in general to even have a prayer against Murray, let alone Djoker. This is coming from a Fed fan btw.

Roger looked really rusty today, and his ros/serve were both pretty bad. He's going to have to get much better or else he doesn't have a prayer of winning this title.

Anyone else notice he's juiced his second serve, or is that just me?

True. He just needs to knock the rust off and he should be fine.

LOL - Murray isn't even getting to play his dubs match tomorrow :)

It's starting to look like to TD answered Murrays WC request through gritted teeth :)

I'm sure Andy has a wry smile on his face right now with the schedule he's been given.

Still, if he does make it past Fed and get to the final it'll be all the sweeter.

And, rumour has it - Valencia REFUSED to give Murray a wild card.

Actually he should have got on the entry list without asking a WC in the first place. Maybe it's only my perception but this seems to happen quite often with Andy.

Good news for UK guys - Sky are now showing Basel from Thursday (they had previously advertised that they would be covering Valencia).

Why would they need to do that? If they didn't want him all they had to do was politely turn down his request.

I'm scratching my head here wondering what possible reason Sky UK might have for switching coverage from Valencia to Basel!

Well DY had been showing some promise, but unfortunately got b@*ch slapped by a lucky loser.
And why did he take the last couple weeks off, he should be getting as many points as possible.

So is there anywhere to watch replays of matches, or no? Espn3 doesn't have them.

Indeed they are. But you expressed an opinion (that only Roger can beat Novak), not a fact.

It's the arrogant, ignorant and backhanded comments in bold that stand out.
"We can all agree" - arrogance - believe me, we don't all agree.
"Federer is the only person capable of taking out Djokovic" - ignorance - In the Rome semi final, Murray was one service game and 30 love up from defeating prime fully fit Dkokovic on Murray's worst surface, clay, before a lucky net chord and double fault lost Murray that game and eventually the match on a tie break.
"he is the only one to defeat Djoker without ret" - nasty little backhanded insult there - a little dig at Murray's great victory over Djokovic in the Cincinatti Masters final.
Djokovic should be ashamed of himself for conveniently retiring at 0-3 down, final set, and allowing small minded people to claim it wasn't a genuine victory when there was absolutely no sign of that shoulder injury one week later in the USO.
Shall we say Murray was injured at the AO final (not injured but exhausted) or the French Open semi final (he was) or the Wimbledon semi final (he was) but that was his problem for getting injured or tired and not preserving himself properly. Same for Djokovic whose injury was far more dubious than Murray's who never retires unless it's physically impossible. We can make excuses for anyone's defeat.
Ok, you were saying I know little about a rivalry. (Fed vs Djok we all know about)
I notice you use the term "a rivalry". Open your mind from the world of Federer and consider other possible rivalries eg Murray's threat to Djokovic which is a very obvious one.
You also say "Facts are facts".
It's arrogance again to veil your opinions as facts. They are opinions, as are my comments above, which are shared by other people but not all people. We cannot all agree.
    Agreed?

Will Federer be able to stand a defeat at home if he and Djokovic reach the final? or will he retire?

Pulled out after on 11 mins. This hurts him bad as LaMonf right behind him for the final spot in London. If LaMonf has a good run in Valencia and Fish cannot play in Bercy next week so long Fishy.

I believe almagro, tipsarevic, and delpo are the only ones with reasonable chances to qualify. and perhaps fish feels for his long time buddy blake and decides to let him through to the next round figuring he has enough points himself to skip this event and play in paris and still qualify?

Why didn't he challenge?? "That" close to the line on a break point!

Never mind, Nishikori breaks anyway, will serve for the 2nd set at 5-3.

According to Wed's schedule, Murray will have to go straight from his match with Haase on Centre Court (which seems likely to be a toughie) to play doubles with Jamie on Court 2 against the #2 seeds Mirnyi and Nestor!

The Basel schedulers are obviously having a laugh! Maybe he should have stayed home, relaxed a bit more and concentrated on preparing for Paris and WTF.

9 points in a row for Nishikori, Berdych finally breaks that run for 15-30.

So Fish and Berdych are both out. Djokovic could play lefty and still make the final.

If he continues to play with a lot of rust, he'll lose to Baghy I think..
