I prefer Justine's backhand, but in terms of results Jankovic wins. Her down the line shots are unmatched.

Sharapova's got the prettiest two-hander in the WTA IMO, but not quite the same accuracy as Jankovic.

Justine gets third place for me, her backhand can be amazing, but it can also make a lot of errors.

Chakvetadze gets fourth IMO, not as powerful, but very consistent.

Venus and Serena have nice ones, but they hit too close to their body IMO. I'm not a fan of open stance two handers.

Ivanovic shouldn't even be on this poll, her backhand is a huge weakness.

I think Justine's is prettiest, but Sharapova's is more brutal, IMO. Venus's, too. I think Justine has one of the best forehands (in league with Ivanovic, Kuznetsova, Mirza), but her backhand goes off to often.

Hmmm, I can't decide between Sharapova (her most reliable shot IMO), Venus (deadly, and better than Serena's, again IMO), and Jankovic.

    Actually, wait, I just did...Jankovic.

For 2HBH, I would actually say Hantchucova. It is a beautiful shot, great form, lots of power. But, she's such a head case that she can never really use it to full effect when it matters most.

You can't figure out that the OP meant Svetlana Kuznetsova?

If you like the variety then you can pick Justine Henin, but I picked Venus Williams as usual. Open stance or not the girl has lethal backhand, which forgives her sometimes funky forehand. :)

for prettiness and variety with slices, Justine Henin. But she makes too many errors off of it and it isn't as powerful as Sharapova. People often mistake it looking pretty to it being actually effective.

Sharapova has the best backhand. She can hit crazy angles with it, be consistent and powerful at the same time.

    Henin and Mauresmo for one-handed.
Clearly Sharapova for two-handed. (IT IS KILLER!)

I, of course, voted for Justine's. But not because it is the prettiest. I actually thing she jumps up on too much. But for sheer power when needed, variety when needed she has to rank right up there, if not the best.

The reason that i put justine on 4th was because of t he inconsistency. Yes, her slice backhand is gorgeous however, in the WTA tour now a meer slice wont end the point. + the lack of ability to attack the serves with her backhand. Even when she is 2 or 3 feet behind the baseline to recieve serve, she cant attack the serves for an return ace like Venus or Serena.

As an example, When it was 30-40 champion ship point for Venus on Justine's serve, Venus didnt even pound the second serve with her backhand but Justine completely missed her backhand when given to her by Venus.

i voted hantachova cause she is hot. other than that justine henin would win because she is the only women on tour who uses slices and mixes up her backhands depth speed and spin.
