Guess what "Former Pro Player Talk" means in a forum title.

  4. I agree. Great stuff. Not too different from what Nadal does now on huge points.

amazing clip. the more 90s tennis i watch the more i enjoy it. i think maybe racquet size and esp. string technology have got the point where anyone (by pro standards) can smack the crap out of the ball, and a 39 year old will never be able to compete because it's so much about athleticism. still, that's how all sports have gone, carlos valderrama couldn't boss a midfield in football in 2009, little shane williams is the last of a dying breed in rugby.

that's an aside, this point was totally epic, thanks for the clip!

Lovely to see Jimmy again. At Wimbledon his mother used to egg him on and she was great fun also. Yes he does remind me of a younger Rafa

That was definitely my favorite celebration. It's hard to root against a 39 year old playing against the young guys. Jimmy worked that crowd to death that year.

I don't like it when people celebrate their points won.
And connors took it to the extreme, can't stand it!
    Ultimately childish.

But I'm affraid most sports people are like that, unfortunately.

i like it when it seems spontaneous, i don't like it when it appears designed to intimidate the opposition.

the same goes for joking around with the crowd. i love the guy, but when he was playing badly, that was when goran (for instance) pulled out the goofy stuff, and funny as it was, sometimes it would throw his opponent off, and could be seen as a strategy to achieve that.

Pat Cash going into the stands at Wimbledon is my top celebration. I believe it was the first time someone had done it. Family first.

  19. I agree. I don't like big, over-the-top celebrations. In my opinion, celebrations are bets left for after the match, out of respect for your opponent.
