The most dampered damperner you cannot even fell a little vibration
If you want the best dampener that kills ALL vibration but in my view also kills a lot of feel in the string bed, then use Babolat Vibrakill.
You can't buy it on TW but other stores will have it.
Currently my two favorite dampeners, that kills a great deal of vibration but still makes you feel the stringbed, are Babolat Custom damp and Tecnofibre VibraClip.
all about rubberbands
I don't know about the others but Babolat Custom Damp is great. Vibration is gone and the feel is still good. I needed to use two Wilson dumpeners to reduce vibration to the same level.
Why would you want to kill all the feel? Try a rubber band, man!
Does the rubberband give the racket completely no vibration
neither, it all about the wilson smiley
I bet we know who voted for the tecnifibre vibra clip...
a rubber band..
The Sampras O is nice but it is still a bit pingy in terms of the sound the strings make. I have this same problem with the Wilson Smiley. As stupid as it is to say, my favorite wilson dampener is the SpongeBob, it has great noise reduction. The babolat custom damp with or without the center maybe the best though. It all depends on how much noise reduction you want. I personally like my racquets to make a nice heavy thwap sound when I hit the ball.
Yes, that damp is the best one. I use it and I recommend it
Here's a test:
1. Put in Earplugs
2. Test them
Too many people confuse sound with feel when it comes to dampeners...
i just got the wilson vibra fun smilies that djokovic has ill test em tomorrow.
Either a rubber band or a Sampras O.
I used the wilson vibra fun smiley today and it worked well.
Rubber Band > All.
the gamma no shock dampener really kills a lot of vibration. too much for me.
I remember Gamma Shockbusters being pretty effective when I used to use dampeners.
> pwns all others.
best, getting rid of all kinks and sounds without losing too much feel=gamma worm
for me...head logo (I can still feel the stringbed but no "ping")
no damper is the best
babolat custom damp is great also rubberband is to if you have like 10 racquets i may get rubber bands but if u only got like 4-5 i may get custom damps or just do what i do steal them haha.
I am certain that this player uses the "Babolat Custom Damp(yellow)". Does anyone know if he uses it without the clear insert, or with the clear insert inside the dampner(please look on the this pictures)?
Can't tell... sorry.
What did you mean, when you look on the pictures(with or without the insert)?
Looks like a clear insert to me.
Use Komlavi Loglo on the pictures the bubble in the center of the "Custom Damp" or not?
Its a clear insert
Wilson shock trap definetley.
t e n n i s p l a z a
Rubber Bands for the win!
next in line Pete Sampras!
i want to try Custom Damps but ive heard all over the forum the fall off even if you dont hit them.
Did you mean, he uses the yellow Dampener with the clear insert, the same as on this picture:
Ok, thanks for the answers.
I use now the Custom Damp (yellow) with the clear insert
ive been through several dampeners. dampeners that worked a little were the head dampeners, the wilson W, the smiley faces, the hope dampeners, and the oval us open dampeners. my gripe with them is they pop out a lot except the us open one. the yonex dampener, the ntrap, and the shocktrap provided more dampening. the ntrap and shocktrap are just a pain to put on if they pop out. my personal favorite and current dampener is the gamma shockbuster worms. also dampener makes strings feels softer on impact imo. does not pop out easily and can easily be put back on if it pops out because only the ends will pop out. the whistling dampeners stink imo, feels like cheap plastic on the racket.
I use the Wilson chili pepper dampener, and it's the only one that feels good for me at all. I have no idea why.
I like the wilson w and the head logo dampeners. Strangely, it seems like the gray head dampeners I got at Wal-Mart a few years back are better/softer than any others, and I prefer the older solid black wilson w dampeners to the newer ones with a clear outline. Those two seem to dampen just enough to get rid of the ping. I've never had one fall out either.
Also, I really like rubber bands, but they seem to deteriorate after awhile. I'm still using the same two head logo dampeners 5 or 6 years after buying them...
Not so - I have custom damp in all my racquet, and they have NEVER EVER fallen off my racquet, not one single time.
I use them with the clear insert, this gives the dampener a tigther fit into the strings, and I think this also is the reason for why the dampener never falls out of the stringbed.
