If you were going to make a doubles team out of the Big 4 players who would you choose and why?

My choice would be Federer and Nadal. I think Federer would be the best doubles player and you get the righty/lefty combo.

    Fedal without a doubt...

Second would be Fed Murray then Nadal Murray

Djoker is just not good enough at the net

    +1 for me.
We know Fed can volley, if he's interested.
Nadal might have the best volleys of the foursome, but not the best transition game (Fed).

    Ditto.

Nadal - is actually pretty good in doubles, has won a couple of masters with Lopez

Federer - doesn't play that often but when he cares he can produce some great tennis, Olympic Gold, a masters tournament won, makes a decent team with Wawrinka

Murray - don't really know much about his game

Djokovic - well, just no. He's not good in doubles at all.

    Federer-Nadal without a shadow of a doubt.

Fed-Murray. They would have the most versatility as a team.

Fed/Murray. They are the best doubles/net players out of the bunch.

Fed/Nadal or Murray/Nadal would probably work as well.

Federer and Nadal are the best doubles players out of the group, so I'd pick them.

Federer-Murray would work the best since both of them have really good volleys. Sure, Federer has been falling off that chair a bit but as a combination they would be hard to beat.

Fed-Murray. They have the best volleys in the top 4, they can hit a nice drop volley but they can also stick a volley in the corner too. Murray would pass well since he would have the doubles alley and Fed is Fed

Either Fedal or Fedovic, but I went for Fedal. The conbo of righty/lefty, both forehands, defence and attack etc, would make them a pretty good team I think..

In what world is Djokovic a great Doubles player? His net game is mediocre at best. He's working on it, but he's clearly the worst volleyer in the top 4.

I'd agree with Murray and Federer. I think Nadal and Murray would have the best chemistry though, they would have the most fun on court and that could make for a dangerous partnership too.

It all depends how they sync together but I think Federer and Nadal are definitely the best doubles players of the group (although Murray could be pretty good too). Djokovic is just awful though LOL

I didn't say he was a great volleyer, but I'm thinking Federer can take care of volleys, Djokovic can take care of the back of the court more. Plus, people say he's the worst volleyer out of the top 4, but I've seen matches between him and Nadal or Murray when he's come to the net a lot more and had more success when he has.

In any case I voted for nadal and Federer

Federer and Murray, both have good serves and good hands at the net. I think we all agree that doubles isn't Djokovic's strong point though, lol

I think it's wrong to base your choices on how good they are as volleyers. A lot else goes on in doubles and so far Federer and Nadal have proven themselves the most, so I'd take Fedal.
