Hey i'm a 5.0 junior player with a wid fit. I would love a light shoe. Not a big fan of barricades like the rest of the world:) Also a gurantee or a decent price would be nice. Don't care if it's a somewhat older model as long as it performs well.

    Thanks

New Balance MC 656 might be a good choice for you.

Hunt down some Asics Gel resolution 3s..exactly what you want (I used barricades, or moon boots as I call them, in the past).

The GR4s are awesome too, but obviously will cost more.

Oh yes..they play real light. I think they are the best shoes I have owned (out of Big shots, Barricades, Ballistecs, breathe cage 2010).

If you are playing more clay you can get the Gel Solutions which are even lighter, but not as durable.

I mostly play on hard, I used the gel challenger 8's before probably my favorite shoe is far as fit and speed, but i'd like a little more cushioning and durability. Hopefully resolutions will have that.

If you want REALLY light, the New Balance 851s (available in E width if you want) are great, but the cushioning is not anywhere close to Asics shoes. Currently loving the Asics R4s myself.

The Gel Resolutions squeezed my little toes, so I found they were wide in the heel, but not in the toe box.

I'd say the best bets are the New Balance MC 851s or Yonex 304s. Both of these shoes are lighter than the Gel Res 3s. The MC851s have a warranty, but I still haven't tried a pair. The Yonex 304s are light and comfy, but they are not particularly durable. I use 304s as my match shoes.

I can't really compare them because I only had the 3s for a few days: they felt amazing in store but then on court the rigidity of the edges we're digging into my heels on lateral movements, and it was bothersome enough fore to give up. Others had this same issue, but many didn't - just depends on your heel type/shape, I guess.

The 4s have given me no such problem, and I haven't read about anyone else having it, either, so I think they alleviated the issue.

Was it because of short socks?

No. Come on. I wear crews usually and even tried going with two socks and it still bugged me. The 'claw' that you see that wraps around the back of the Resolutions, I'm pretty sure it was far stiffer in last year's version than this one, which has slightly more give. But like I said it wasn't a common issue, but a few of us had it.

K-Swiss Speedsters, hands down. They are light, and good for wide feet. All of my running shoes are EE (wides), and the Speedsters don't cramp my feet at all.
Awesome cushioning and support for their weight as well. I don't use them for practices, or just hit arounds. Matches only.

Agree on the Vapor 8 but not so much on the Vapor 9- I found the Vapor 9 to be narrower than the 8s.

Also, neither has any sort of wear guarantee.

take a look at the new Head Speed Pro Lite. 14.5oz, VERY comfortable right out of the box, great traction, 6 month outsole warranty. And Head shoes are always a little wider up front which I require.

Head shoes stack up against the best of them, I don't know why they don't seem to be more popular.

I really want to get Gel Resolutions 3, unfortunately it seems everyone has just started discontinuing them. Anyone know where I can get a pair of 12's or 11 1/2?
