Best overgrip for sweathy hands

Hi All,

What overgrip do you recommend for someone with very sweaty hands, my hands sweat like crazy, and it really makes my overgrip slippery. I was using the Head extreme soft, but it got way too slippery, changed to yonex supergrap which is alot better. Is there anything else you recommend for extremely sweaty hands?

Thanks

from what people have been saying, tournagrip is probably your best bet. i havent tried it myself but in this texas weather and this time of year i might have to go try some myself.

i have your same problem, and im also using the head extreme soft. its great for about 2 hours or so but i find myself changing them constantly...anyone know how long the tournagrip uses?

depends how long you wait before you change grips out. some people an hour or two, some people weeks.

Hi Bulldogtennis,

I used the extremesoft, after one set it was that slippery I was losing grip. I changed to the Yonex supergrap for the next set, which was much better.

I think from reading posts etc here, I am going to try the tournagrip, and just change it fairly regularly, my hands sweat like crazy even in winter here in AUstralia let alone in the summer.

for all of those with sweaty hands... trying tournagrip is a must. it is a thin grip with a unique feel (no pun intended). it is thin, but does a great job controlling sweat. it is not very durable though, probably lasts about half as long as yonex supergrap. i personally like supergrap but don't mind tournagrip if i am sweating a lot.

I have sweaty hands, I tried the tournagrip before, in my opinion it fails. it soaks the sweat up fast, after that you can throw it away.
Yonex supergrap and wilson pro overgrip, works better, feels bit tacky, softer for your hands and absorbs sweat well. you should try it.

Hi,

The head extreme grip is verry slippery, if you are like me and have sweaty hands its not good at all, I have the tourna grip now and its really good.

yep im using tournagrip now...very very very good...and it doesnt tear up as easy as people said---i played a 3 hour set last night--and 1 1/2 today and its still in good shape.

Same problem here... I loved Tourna grip, but doesnt last too long. Its great when new. I used to buy Tourna on 30 packs, but wasnt really satisfied. Then, went on to try other grips, and really liked Yonex super gap, and Wilson Pro (both white, since there's no added color). I feel Wilson is a bit better, tackier for a longer time, so now I'm hooked on Wilson, which are kinda cheap ($27 for 30).
Other tips, use wrist bands, since most of your hand sweat is actually sweat that runs along your arms to your hands, and use a towel to keep on court to periodically dry hands, arms and grip while playing. That has helpmed me a lot, and now overgrips last longer. hope it helps!
