Gotta ask. Why do the same 3 over grips get so much praise? What is it about the Wilson Pro, Supergrap, and VS that everyone raves about?

I've been putting the Prince Resipro over TW leather and it feels great. Comparison?

When I sweat a lot I prefer a grip like Tourna. It absorbs the sweat. Tacky grips become wet, they don't absorb enough sweat, which is a problem for me in warm and humid weather. However in cold weather I prefer a tackier grip that lasts a little bit longer than Tourna which is not durable at all, like Wilson Pro. It gives me more tack than the Tourna when my hands are dry.

    Seconded.

No too thick, not too thin, not too mushy, a little tacky, lasts a long time.

    Me too...

During the summer I use a dry grip and around this time of the year I will switch to tacky grips.

Dry Grip: Pro's Pro Aquazorb Plus
Thicker and softer than the tourna grips but not quite as good vs sweat. I do not sweat excessively so they work fine for me.

Tacky Grip: Pro's Pro Ultra tacky
I prefer the Ultra tacky over Wilson or Gamma Supreme since the grip is good but it doesn't feel "sticky"

Can't beat the price on either...

    Good post.
I sweat a lot. I would say i sweat like half a sampras and a quarter rafter, which is equal to fourteen times roger.
I like my grips like my women: thin, white and tacky with leather underneath. Kidding... about the tacky women. Well, since the wedding.

I used tournagrip for about twenty years. Now i like vs grip if i want the dry feel. Usually, i like yonex and wilson pro. I use the thickest volkl, babolat, wilson or gamma wristbands and i wear a cotton shirt, changing it if necessary. Poly is just bad.

    Edit:
Oh, and i towel off for like twenty seconds between every point and gesture to my box constantly. Kidding. I leave my towel by my nalgene bottle for the change of ends.

Anyone that likes "Gamma Supreme" should try "Gamma Supreme Soft". I used to use Supreme, but the Soft version is so much better. I can't use anything else now. If they stop making them, I will buy the company! :)n

Supergrap never wowed me. The price did before it was increased. Now that it costs as much as most others, there are several I prefer over the Yonex.

I really like the Tecnifibre overgrips.

Have you gotten any good answers yet? I feel the same. I tried resipro but it does not last like the three overgrips you mentioned. They are my three favorites by far ever since i got off tournagrip. Why have the other companies not topped these three products?

Wilson pro overgrip was/is just a response to how great supergrap was and is. Same formula. Possibly same designers? They nailed it. Moderately tacky, moderately dry. Good durability. Does not get slick. Vs grip has a similar feel, and it is a little drier and thinner.

    The rest are substandard, imho.
Also, i feel a difference in the colors. The darker, the worse. Pastels seem fine. White looks dirty but feels the best for longer.

I use Supergrap in white. Newly wrapped, I think it's the best. It doesn't last near the thumb and it got a lot more expensive recently, hence why I am looking at this thread.

Someone else mentioned Dunlop Geko Tac. That was the OG that got me into using OGs. It's good, absorbs sweat really well, good tack. But it's too thick for my taste.

So, I should try the Technifibre?

    Great grip^.

All my wristbands were in the laundry one morning, and suddenly, it went from cool and humid to steamy. Vs grip did well for me.

I believe rafa nadal uses vs grip, right? Good endorsement from a hard working guy who sweats.

I know a lot of people don't like it because it's so thin and doesn't last long, but it works for me and keeps the racket in place.
I can't use regular tacky grips, the racket just turns in my hand after 15 minutes of hitting and I need to grip it firmly. At that point playing tennis stops being fun.

I finally gave the TW leather + Wilson Pro OG combo a try and I gotta say....it lives up to the hype. Great feel, nice tack, soft on the hand but not mushy. And it's super easy to install.

Wilson pro sensation and yonex supergrap. Yonex is more durable and holds its tack longer, but the wilson is WAY thinner. The wilson is also a lot harder to put on. You can't go wrong with either.

Tec Pro players a bit short but it has very nice tack and great absorption. It never hurts your hands.

I am using the Tecnifibre ATP Pro Players overgrips and like them a lot. The main difference between the two is the thickness of the grip, 0,5mm. instead of 0,7 mm.

Preferences are very personal for over grips but for someone who doesn't want super tackiness but just smooth soft feeling with great feel, I'd recommend Volkl overgrip. The one made with cotton sheet underneath.

Super durable and soft but gives good grip feel. I prefer it to Wilson pro.

I may be in minority but Gamma Tac, or Dri are my go to over grips. Also like supreme for when I am on the verge of blisters as it's spongy and cushioned.

The reason IMO Super Grap is so awesome is that it is tacky while handling sweat well.

I found it because I liked the base tacky grips on my Heads but had a slipping issue, tried Super Grap, great tacky feel without being super sticky and I've never had a the slip issues return.

I'm sure there's a limit for real sweat hogs, but if you aren't a fan of the cloth feel I'd recommend trying it.

I used TournaGrip in my teens (nothing wrong w/ it) - switched to Yonex Super Grap when I picked up playing again late 20s.

    Depends on Temperature...

Tourna XL during hot & humid days (+80F), Wilson Pro any other time.

I prefer tacky grips, but here in the Mid-Atlantic (USA) it can get extremely humid; Tourna really comes in handy when I'm sweating buckets, as the grip actually improves with moisture.

Yonex Super Grap is very good as well. I like Babolat VS in regards to feel and thickness (or lack thereof), but can't justify paying more for it.

^ Although I think Tourna XXL is the best overgrip money can buy, no matter what, I agree with Strat. Babolat VS is good overgrip, it's just pricy for what it is. Tournagrip is pretty cheap and it's the best feeling and sweat absorbing grip on the market, IMO.

Wilson Pro. Tournagrip will do in a pinch, but I find they're harder on my hands and they don't last as long.

I really like the Tecnifibre Pro Contact. I am using it for a periode of time now and I'm still very impressed...

Before that I used to play the Wilson Pro Overgrip which is great as well, but in my opinion, the Tecnifibre Overgrip is slightly ahead...
